IS WEB 3.0 A SCAM? DOES IT FEEL LIKE IT?
The craze of pay to earn games started in late 2021, and we have seen games like Axie Infinity, Splinterlands, Thetan arena and the host of others to mention a few flourished within the short time frame.
My area of concern is the Axie Infinity game, which is said to be valued at a billion dollars which is also placed as the pioneer of the play to earn game makes it difficult in the onboarding process.
You can’t play without purchasing the Axie characters first with is valued at about 0.05 Eth, unlike Splinterlands which issues you a startup cards to participate in the game. As soon as you make your presence know you can ought into getting owned cards. I was surprised to find out that as popular as MetaMask in the world of crypto currency it’s not enabled in the application. I really don’t understand why you can’t just have the market place built in same application, I can really imagine what newbies who are trying to onboard the application the kind of stress they will pass through.
The Ethereum gas fee is also an attribute to this, with the instability of the gas fee, most times users lose their money to gas fee. Lols I have tried to avoid making transactions with the Ethereum block chain. With the high learning experience and the high cost of entry, I won’t suggest the Axie infinity game to a crypto newbie because you will definitely get stuck at some point during the entry process. The growth of Web 3 should also see the growth of the user experience of some Web 3 applications, well I still have faith on the Web 3 technology, Seen it’s release since the last quarter of last year. I definitely see it flourish this year, with creative minds and developers it’s definitely going to get different this year.
The publicity and the use cases are quite lacking, because the only eco system I have seen this web 3 application been utilized is on the hive blockchain. Outside the hive blockchain it’s more less back to the normal, when there is more awareness and more product coming from the development team certainly it will be worth it.
The play to earn game Axie infinity no matter how difficult it is to onboard, it has seen over a million active users daily in a tweet by the chief executive officer I said that they are likely to see the Axie infinity game played for free later this year.

I doubt axie infinity will ever be played for free. That's quite unlikely. Apart from the difficult onboarding process, it seems it's quite tasking on both the physical and mental health of players as well as been quite time demanding. I know quite a few players who have decided to get out for their own good
