YouTube is making content creation harder

Recently, some content creators have been complaining about how their videos got demonetized because the content they added was deemed to be "unfit" for viewership by YouTube.

This is not the first time they have tightened their regulations around how content should be presented. Every time advertisers complain about one content or the other, they restrict the type of things people are supposed to say and the type of things people are allowed to do on the platform.

One of the first YouTubers to get the memo was RTGame, who found out that his videos were not generating money like they were supposed to. He made complaints to YouTube and even spoke to those who were higher up in the ranks on YouTube, and found that the case was that he had made some mistakes some years back, over a decade ago, and that was the reason for the demonetization.

New regulations were brought forward in the last months of last year concerning swear words like "crap" and "fuck", and at the same time they took out "hell" and "damn". YouTubers also found out that using the swear words after the first 30 seconds was not demonetizable, but this time has been shortened to 8 seconds. These rules were also the same for violence being shown on the screen.

For this reason, many YouTubers had to make a lot of their videos to meet YouTube's requirements.

I don't see how this can be anything but bad for YouTube and the YouTubers making content, and counting every dollar that will be lost because of their videos being demonetized. I also sympathize with them over the fact that they have to re-upload the videos that were demonetized.

This might be a good opportunity for 3speak to capitalize on this, not just 3speak, but Rumble and Twitch who are new and up-and-coming. I see how this will not hurt YouTube and its content creators.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think YouTube is right for censoring this type of content? Will content creators be leaving YouTube? Are other platforms benefiting from this?

3speak still is really amateur rather than YouTube. I hope developing 3speak be better in future and more members we see there.

I agree...I hope they can get big enough and fix all their issues. It is the only way I see them growing

I think censoring some of this swear words is important as Youtube has gained a lot of audience both old and young. We must thrive to see to it that our world is sane enough to be accessible to both young and old. You are right to have said that creating content on youtube is harder than it was before. But regardless, other platform should seize every opportunity to get better at their game.
My thought anyways.
I stand to be corrected

I beg to differ because on Youtube there are videos that are tagged children friendly and those that are not. If they have already made such provisions what is the need for the extra constraints?
