FTX plays investigation tricks in court

The Department of Justice is not allowing it as they spotted promptly that FTX was trying to have Sullivan & Cromwell, who are heavily tasked with investigating the legal issues surrounding the exchange, be hired.

If you have watched any really cool legal movie this holiday then you probably know that sometimes experts will come in and handle delicate information.

Now the firm Sullivan & Cromwell was that legal team to investigate their illegal and legal issues, and FTX tried to hire them.

The Department of Justice wasn't having that because the conflict of interest was already glaring, but to add to that, they already have a legal advisor who was a former employee at Sullivan & Cromwell, who is working for FTX. He worked there for close to a decade. I am sure people will think that they are professionals and they should be able to stay that way...but that's really easier said than done.

In surgeries, they excuse close friends from the theatre (in the movies) even if they are doctors themselves, so I see where they are coming from, from a professional movie watcher's standpoint.

There is also the case that this is not the first time Sullivan & Cromwell have been called out on this...THIS YEAR!! Some US senators were reported to have acted against them in November when they were first employed to handle the case. They requested that an independent team of experts should be placed in charge of the case, and their letter has been sent to the US Bankruptcy court.

When Sam Bankman-Fried decided that he would plead not guilty, this was exactly what he and his team of con people had in mind. They were willing to play it dirty. I really do not know how they intend to get out of the level of trouble they have put themselves into.

But those are my thoughts on the case. I think he is playing a game there in court, hoping he wins. A loser's game though, because he is in such a bad position.
