During A NEAR Rainbow Bridge Hack Hacker Losses $8k
It's not normal and you wouldn't hear if this anytime sooner but my excitement was over the roof as a hacker lost 5 Eth when exciting a breach in Near Rainbow Bridge. We've always seen security at its worse or even performing less but Near Rainbow Bridge have shown that there's a way to stay above breach no matter how the threat may take form, its security is in place to deflect any manipulation.
Rainbow Bridge is created by Aurora, an Ethereum-compatible scaling solution built on the NEAR blockchain. The breach occurred in NEAR/ETH Rainbow Bridge although no funds were lost aside that of the hacker.
According to Aurora Labs CEO Alex Shevchenko via tweet the attack was mitigated within 31 seconds as automated independent watchdogs terminated an operation with wrong information.
The hacker submitted a fabricated NEAR block to Rainbow Bridge during a transaction which required 5 ETH and the hacker deposited and lost it because the automated watchdogs of the blockchain had seen it was a game.
This is just one of the best security news I'm reading, also found out that there's was an attack on the 1st of May that resulted to no loss as the watchdogs terminated the malicious act.
