AI - The hung jury dilemma between threats and opportunities
If we were to think that there would be a court case on whether the humanity should embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) or restrict and condition it, I believe that would be the case of a hung jury. It seems that no-one can decide whether the benefits like automating written tasks or finding solutions or even learning to create things by searching through vast amounts of indexed information in seconds, outweigh the flavors of biased data, low accuracy undermining trust and accountability.
AI threats
For the job market itself, AI represents both a threat and an opportunity. It could lead to a savage reduction in jobs for humans, which might be stuck with job routines that can be automated. At the same time, AI can play a hugely valuable role in researching and finding similar or new solutions for the challenges during work. We already see precedent uses when things simply go horribly wrong. An example of that in a legal profession is given by the New York lawyer Steven Schwartz which found himself facing his own court hearing this year, after he used ChatGPT to research precedents for a case involving a man suing an airline over personal injury. Six of the seven cases researched with AI and that he used in court had been completely made up. This proves that the baseline of the information lacks accuracy. And this is just one occurrence I've read about highlighting the threats.
If on the new generative AI that have learning abilities we feed them unacurate or negative biased facts, I can only imagine how bad things can go from there. Rebellious AIs without any principles might get out in the wild and start the hunting on the weak systems and souls. In such a development, all the worst nightmares might become reality.
AI opportunities
While threats are everywhere when it comes to AI, some seen and others unseen, this new technology comes also with opportunities. And one that I found myself using as well is to help me with the coding of automation tests. While I make the solution in my head, I use ChatGPT to generate code for my building blocks. I put them all together and a viable solution is born. On top of that I see amazing help with research and even creating new things based on generated ideas, although my confidence in provided information is not very high. In case of exact sciences AI seems to do well, while outside of it things get more complicated and the results are not so satisfying.
AI development
One development that I've seen in new is the action that Elon Musk and his empire took related to AI, which reversed from requesting a delay on AI developments and free use, to building and using chat bots on X or even building AI chips. The AI industry is in free flight and only time will tell if that's good or bad. While we might enjoy the benefits that AI brings, without some control we might up paying hard for it.
In the end we have the power to shape the world as we want, but we also are responsible for the effects it produces. But what is sure is that AI is here, whether you like it or not. You can fight it or embrace and history will write itself based on the humanity decision or indecision related to AI. Wished that I could see it in my lifetime how this all ends... limitless evolution or extinction.
What say you about AI ultimate result?

To me AI is good and bad for humanity but we can learn to focus more on the good side and minimize the bad side of it as time goes on. However If AI ever evolve past human then it’s the end for us as we’ll become like dinosaurs of the past. But I don’t think that’ll ever happen.
True points and I agree to take the positives out of the AI technology.
AI is good for us but if we depend too much on it, I don't know but I feel there may be problems. You know a lot of people will lose their jobs because there will be job displacement due to AI
AI can help us improve, but in the same time takes us out of our comfort zone by replacing some of the task from our routine. But that should push us to evolve and find new ways to help humanity grow.

It's a thread for those who don't want to skill up and because AI will be implemented in many organisations and opportunity for those who learn about it.
It's a good idea to learn the technology and it's AI this time which is getting more attention across the world. Companies are trying to make the most of available technological opportunity.
For now I have embraced AI and using it actively in my work. But others might feel different...
New tools and methods always pose a threat to those who can't keep up with progress. Whether AI is a good thing or bad depends on your ability to use it or survive the change.
Well said and we should get out of our comfort space and push to learn more and improve ourselves. Or simply work smarter, not harder.
Artificial intelligence hanging on nothing providing numerous opportunities and becoming a great threat for this generation and the generation to come

Just as AI creates opportunities on the one hand, it can also destroy many jobs. A few days ago I saw in a news that many people may lose their jobs due to AI technology
Yeah, that's the bad part of it. But in the same time I think is also creating jobs for those with high specialization. It brings a shift in the work space for sure.
I haven't used this technology at all yet but I have seen many benefits and people are also getting a lot of help but I have to say here that what human mind can do is Such things cannot be done at all.
That's true and I believe that is better for humans to have more control over things, while technology to help get things done.
Yeah I totally agree with you.
