Netflix dropped the trailer for the final season of Lucifer a few days ago and I gotta admit; it is gonna be an epic finale!

Breaking it down

The trailer begins with Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) in an interview (or maybe an interrogation, who knows) With LAPD detective Carol Corbett.

He was asked about his claim of being the devil and he replied "was the devil, God now, well nearly" what does this mean exactly?

Spoiler alert!

As you can remember from the end of season 5B, Lucifer became God after defeating his brother Michael. He ended up sacrificing himself in a bid to resurrect his love interest, Chloe Decker (Lauren German), this act made him worthy of becoming God. But did he go back to the silver city (Heaven) to assume the throne of God? Apparently not

He remained on earth as he continued his passion for crime-solving. In an article published by comicbook.com, Tom Ellis spoke on Lucifer's love for mystery and solving crimes;

It's in his DNA now, there may be the odd thing to solve, but he's got quite a few mysteries to solve to be honest.

With Lucifer now becoming God, how will this affect his relationship with Chloe? That's also going to be one of his problems as he finds himself again on the couch of his Therapist, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris), contemplating his newly found role.

Apocalypse is nigh

The rest of the trailer continues with Chloe and Lucifer looking at Lucifer's throne in hell with a new enemy sitting on it (did Chloe go to hell? looks like it!). The character sitting on Lucifer's throne (or should I say former throne) is an angel known as Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) who apparently wants to kill Lucifer.

Later on, we see a preview of the laws of nature breaking down and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) saying "The apocalypse is nigh".

The trailer continues with lots of action-packed scenes, Lucifer and Chloe in a cartoon world, and ends with Chloe wrestling Lucifer to the ground and pointing a dagger to his chest (we certainly didn't see that coming).

Lucifer season 6 consists of 10 episodes and will be released on Netflix on September 10, 2021.

Fun fact: season 6 almost didn't happen!

The producers planned on wrapping up the show in season 5 (in a game-of-thrones style of season climax) which advertently will leave lots of plot holes as the series won't wrap up some side stories (obviously).

Luckily for us, Netflix decided to push out one last season, which will enable the series to end properly and give everyone the much-needed closure.

Info about the Lucifer series (possible spoiler alert)

After several centuries of ruling over hell, the devil decides to abandon hell and relocates to the human world where he settled in Los Angeles.

He became a consultant with the Los Angeles Police department and worked closely with a female homicide detective, this allows him to capture and "punish" criminals, which was originally his job back in hell.

He also opened a nightclub named Lux where he usually trades favors (sort of a "I scratch your back and you scratch mine later" kinda thing). His favorite demon, Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) tends the bar at Lux

While living on earth, Lucifer is faced with challenges including almost dying, fending off siblings that tried to get him to return to hell, dealing with daddy issues, and a host of others.

There are tons of action, mystery, drama, crime, and comedy. It is truly a fun series.

But sadly, all bad things must come to an end.
