There are movies that are definitely not worth watching, that don't make sense, or maybe it's just us, but no matter how hard we try to make sense of them, we don't understand them, and we immediately label them as bad.

I recently saw this film, translated as The Great Flood. The title and images caught my attention. I thought it looked interesting, and from the cover, I figured it must be about a storm, people trying to survive, and so on, but as they say, nothing is what it seems.

Hay películas que sin duda no valen la pena ver, que no tienen sentido, o será que es uno, que por más que buscamos darle la vuelta, no la entendemos, y de una la catalogamos como mala.

Hace poco vi este film, traducido como El Gran Diluvio, me llamo la atención, el título, y las imágenes, pensé se ve interesante, y por la portada dije, debe tratar de una tormenta, las personas buscando sobrevivir y así, pero como dicen por allí, nada es lo que parece.

Opinion:

So, at the beginning it looks interesting: rain starts to cause a huge flood, leaving people trapped, wanting to escape, scared because they don't understand what's happening, creating great chaos.

We see a mother with her imperative son, struggling with all this chaos, where at the same time, she finds herself at a crossroads, as she is faced with the difficult task of saving humanity by sacrificing her little boy; a very difficult decision for any mother.

Opinión:

Así, al comienzo se ve interesante, una lluvia empieza a crear una enorme inundación, dejando a las personas atrapadas, queriendo escapar, asustados, por no entender qué está pasando, creando un gran caos.

Vemos a una madre con su imperativo hijo, luchando con todo ese caos, donde a la vez, se encuentra en una encrucijada, ya que le corresponde la dura tarea de salvar la humanidad, sacrificando a su pequeño niño; una decisión bastante difícil para toda madre.

On the other hand, we have this man, sent to ensure that this woman fulfills her mission. It's frustrating to see how he tries to get them out, but the child doesn't cooperate. This is where I get to the cumbersome and absurd part of this movie.

Por otra parte, tenemos a este hombre, el enviado para hacer que esta mujer cumpla con su misión, es frustrante ver como intenta sacarlos, pero el niño no colabora, aquí es donde me voy a la parte engorrosa y absurda de esta película.

Key moments

As I mentioned, the film starts off excitingly, with scenes of tension, action, and drama, then takes a turn, and you get lost, trying to guess what it's about, because obviously it's not just about a simple flood, it goes beyond that.

We know that the Chinese want to reduce humanity in some way, or in this case, remake it, so this film, apart from how crazy it is, I think it had or has a point, and that is precisely that, focusing on the theory of the end of the world, with these catastrophes, in order to cleanse the race and start again.

This is something that, after analyzing it a bit, you find some meaning in this film, but you definitely get lost with the loops. It starts well, but the development as such loses meaning along the way.

Momentos claves

Como mencione, la película empieza toda emocionante, con las escenas de tensión, acción y drama, luego da un giro, y allí te pierdes, tratando de adivinar, de que se trata, porque obviamente no se refiere a un simple diluvio, esto va más allá.

Y es que bien sabemos que los chinos de alguna forma quieren reducir la humanidad, o en este caso, rehacerla, por lo que este film, aparte de lo disparado que es, creo, tenía o tiene un punto, y es ese precisamente, enfocándose en la teoría del fin del mundo, con estas catástrofes, para así limpiar la raza, empezar de nuevo.

Esto es algo, que luego de analizar un poco, le encuentras algo de sentido a esta película, pero sin duda te pierdes, con los bucles, comienza bien, pero el desarrollo como tal, va perdiendo sentido en el camino.

In conclusion:

I wouldn't say it was bad, but it wasn't the best movie either. I liked the beginning, but not the ending. But hey, that's just my humble opinion. You'll have to watch it and decide for yourselves.

En Conclusión:

No dire del todo que fue mala, pero tampoco la mejor película, me gusto el inicio, más no el final, pero bueno, es mi humilde opinión, ustedes tendrán que verla y así poder opinar.
