Passing of the torch

In this preview posted by the official Disney + Twitter account, we discover for the first time the actor Jeremy Renner as he will appear in the role of Clint Barton for the series, alongside the actress Hailee Steinfeld who will camp the role of Kate Bishop. This isn't the first time Steinfeld has stepped into the comic book publisher's universe - though she was never officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the Hawkeye series, the American actress had lent her voice. to the character of Gwen Stacy in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse released in 2018.

For this new series, she will introduce for the first time the character of Kate Bishop who should take over the torch of the name Hawkeye after the handover by Clint Barton. Hawkeye will take place after the events of the 2019 Avengers: Endgame movie and is also expected to solve some of the mysteries raised by the post-credit scene from the latest MCU Black Widow movie released earlier this July.

2021, a very Marvel year

It is the screenwriter and producer Jonathan Igla who will act as showrunner on the series Hawkeye . After loaning his pen for series such as Mad Men, Masters of Sex and Sorry for your Loss , Hawkeye will represent the first excursion into the Marvel and Disney universe for Igla.
