Fungi Friday - ON THE LITTLE INLAND TRIP
It was a colorful trip ...
... and a relatively short drive - about 40 kilometers from where I live ....
... that became a relatively long walk ...
... through the woods and meadows ...
... of that beautiful inland area, pretty different from my usual seaside environment ...
... in search for mushrooms ...
... or whatever interesting & beautiful thing the nature had to offer.
All these photographs ...
... were taken on 19.10.2020 ...
... the mushroom season was at its peak in this area ...
... and the autumn ...
... was at its best ...
... with flowers ...
... fruits ...
... and colorful fungi.
This is the Neoboletus luridiformis ... and the fruiting body on this photograph is in good shape.
This one on the other hand, is much older and it shows some decay ...
... which makes it attractive to some flies. This is the Suillia fuscicornis. The larvae of this species burrow and feed inside some mushrooms.
This Drosophila melanogaster is a much smaller fly.
When cut or broken, the tissue of this mushroom is getting blue ...
... and when I broke this already rotting one ...
... to see what's going on inside ...
... I found a bunch of minuscule springtails. Neanura muscorum is the name of this very common species.
Because of this interesting fauna in and around it ...
... I spent quite some time with this mushroom.
Among many relatively small mushrooms ...
... that I wasn't able to identify ...
... I found this large and tall Volvopluteus gloiocephalus.
It looks pretty cool from this angle.
This Bovista plumbea ... a puffball mushroom species ...
... on the meadow ...
... is in its final stage ... ready to release the spores. It was white, firm and edible some days ago ... now it's an interesting leathery sack, with a bit of nice, slightly metallic shine, filled with spores that form a fine brown powder easily dispersed when it gets in the air.
The Lycoperdon perlatum on this photograph, another puffball species ... found in the woods not far from there ... is still in its initial, edible stage.
This Hebeloma crustuliniforme, a poisonous species ... recently appeared on the scene, its cap is still small and oval ... while the one on the following photograph ...
... has spread its umbrella ...
... covered with fallen leaves.
On the fallen oak leaves ... I found also this interesting little things ... they looked like some generic white dots when seen with the naked eye.
When I took a good look through the macro lens, I didn't expect to see this. They looked like a colony of some small sea anemones.
These minuscule aliens look like some kind of fungi ... but I don't know anything about them. And I never noticed them before.
A small nymph of some leafhopper was jumping around those leaves ...
... and this moth was hiding there.
I found plenty of interesting stuff in that small, well illuminated area ...
... under the oak trees that weren't growing close to each other.
I don't know the name of this cool species and I rarely encounter these mushrooms.
Here is another small, pretty generic looking species ...
... but even these kinds of mushrooms are actually pretty cool.
This elegant mushroom definitely stands out from the crowd.
Especially when seen from above.
I don't know what species is this.
Various Russula were coming out of the ground on the meadows ...
... I took these last few shots ...
... and drove home.

What a beautiful story, but am I very interested in that part of the mushroom that reminds me of some cascades or some precious stones - my observation ... and insects are good extras
:)
How wonderful it is, such a variety! ...
But it seems to me that when I started photo hunting for mushrooms, they just stopped growing (
Just amazing photos, great post,
as always on top!!! Thanks for this lovely walk!
Thanks for the comment :) This year was a good year for mushrooms here, so I could take a lot of photographs.
Lucky you are!
And I, at least in your posts, will admire mushrooms))
:)
The tiny white ones on the leaf... I have never seen one like that before!
And gotta love all the colours on the broken one.
Those little things were a big surprise for me too :)
wow .. there are so many mushrooms and they look very beautiful and enchanting.
Wow! A very busy post of mushrooms! Hope they were edible, some of them at least.
You had a very nice walk!
The photos are very high quality @borjan . It is obvious that you care a lot.
