Сьогодні почув в новинах про те, що назустріч американській авіаносній групі на чолі з авіаносцем Рональд Рейган вийшов авіаносець ‘Ляонін’, що входить до складу ВМС Китаю.
Авіаносець ‘Ляонін’ це насправді колишній український авіаносець "Варяг".
Прикро, що маючи великий науково-технічний потенціал, виробничі потужності, але через слабку економіку та відсутність фінансування, Україна змушена була у 1998 році продати авіаносець за ціною металобрухту.

Today I heard in the news that the aircraft carrier Liaoning, which is part of the Chinese Navy, went to meet the American aircraft carrier group led by the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan.
The Liaoning aircraft carrier is actually the former Ukrainian Varyag aircraft carrier.
It is a pity that Ukraine, having great scientific and technical potential and production capacity, but due to a weak economy and lack of financing, was forced to sell the aircraft carrier at the price of scrap metal in 1998.

‘Варяг’ був закладений у 1985 році на Чорноморському суднобудівному заводі у Миколаєві. Спущений на воду у 1988 році.
Після купівлі корабля у складі китайського флоту авіаносець отримав ім'я ‘Ляонін – Liaoning’ на честь провінції Ляонін.
Так ржавіючий металобрухт, після добудови та переоснащення, перетворився на символ та гордість Китаю.

"Varyag" was laid down in 1985 at the Black Sea Shipyard in Mykolaiv. Launched in 1988.
After the purchase of the ship as part of the Chinese fleet, the aircraft carrier received the name "Liaoning - Liaoning" in honor of Liaoning province.
So the rusting scrap metal, after completion and re-equipment, turned into a symbol and pride of China.

Цікава історія транспортування авіаносця до Китаю.
17 місяців ‘Варяг’ перебував в Чорному морі , тому, що Туреччина не давала згоди на прохід Босфору. Після початку буксирування, в ніч на 4 листопада 2001 року під час десятибального шторму «Варяг» зірвався з буксирних тросів і 14 годин безконтрольно дрейфував в Егейському морі . Буксирування тривало 627 днів і в ньому брало участь 11 кораблів і суден. Китай використав технології та конструктивні рішення українських науковців та інженерів для зміцнення своєї військової потужності.
Так, у рамках програми розвитку ВМС Китаю, на базі авіанесучого крейсера ‘Варяг’, було збудовано авіаносець ‘Шаньдун'.

"Varyag" was in the Black Sea for 17 months, because Turkey did not agree to the passage of the Bosphorus. After the start of towing, on the night of November 4, 2001, during a ten-point storm, "Varyag" broke from the towing cables and drifted uncontrollably in the Aegean Sea for 14 hours. The towing lasted 627 days and involved 11 ships and vessels. China used the technologies and constructive solutions of Ukrainian scientists and engineers to strengthen its military power.
Thus, as part of the development program of the Chinese Navy, the Shandong aircraft carrier was built on the basis of the Varyag aircraft carrier.

Хочеться вірити, що настане той час, коли Україна подбає і про свою власну військову міць. Маючи такого агресивного сусіда, як росія, всі можливі ресурси та новітні технології потрібно максимально направляти на зміцнення обороноздатності нашої країни.

We want to believe that the time will come when Ukraine will take care of its own military power. Having such an aggressive neighbor as Russia, all possible resources and the latest technologies should be directed as much as possible to strengthening the defense capabilities of our country.
