The Science Museum of Trento
Hello fellow travellers
In today's article I want to introduce you to a place you absolutely cannot miss if you come to visit Italy, a fun place that is especially useful if you plan to travel with the whole family and have children.
The point of interest I am talking about is the Science Museum in Trento, which opened in 2013 and was designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano.

Above I have also made a small screen where you can tell where this museum is located, in which part of Italy.
The science museum in Trento is the ideal place to discover science and nature, and just think that it is spread over no less than six floors, with a total area of around 19,000 m².
Basically, this new museum, which as I told you was opened in 2013, replaced the old museum and the whole area was redeveloped with a new neighbourhood.
It takes about three hours to visit this entire complex. The museum is very large, and it is possible inside to have various scientific experiences, but also to understand how technology can help us protect the environment and pollute less.
If you are in possession of the Trentino card, a card that is issued in every accommodation where you stay, you can enter the museum at the reduced price of €7 and children do not pay.
In fact, as I told you, this museum is very suitable for children because it helps them understand how nature and the environment around us work.
At the entrance before entering the museum, you will find the famous Winged Lion, a work by the famous sculptor Marco Martalar, which I am sure those who follow me will have seen that I have also mentioned it again in my YouTube channel.
This artist recovered wood from a bad storm that happened here in 2018, and with this wood he created all very environmentally friendly sculptures.
Inside the museum, you will have the opportunity to see many stuffed animals. These have been studied by numerous scientists, and so it is possible to show them to even the youngest children who may never have seen one.
The area I enjoyed the most was the lower part of the museum, where there are many fossils and skeletons of many dinosaurs.
On some days, thanks to the museum's friendly staff, workshops are also organised for children where they can experience and understand the history of these animals.
It is estimated that the museum had reached four million visitors by the end of October, a very positive figure, taking into account the two years of the pandemic, and bearing in mind that it is ultimately a provincial museum.
By the way, I want to let you in on a secret, there is a way to enter the museum totally free of charge, in fact on the first Sunday of every month the entrance to the museum is free of charge, this is not so much publicised but I have experienced it.
I hope my story has been very useful, and I hope as usual that I have made you discover something you did not know about Italy, a museum that is definitely worth a visit, I thank you for reading and I look forward to seeing you in the next article.
If you are in the area, you absolutely must visit Lake Ledro, both in winter and in summer it is a beautiful naturalistic place to see, below I leave you a video walking tour.👇
