What is AGI? (Artificial General Intelligence)
Was ist AGI?
AGI ist eine Abkürzung für Artificial General Intelligence (Allgemeine Künstliche Intelligenz) und stellt einen wichtigen, evolutionären Entwicklungsschritt Richtung starker KI dar.
Starke KI und AGI werden oft synonym verwendet.
Eine AGI kann alle intellektuellen Aufgaben verstehen, lernen und bewältigen, die auch ein Mensch mit dem notwendigen Know-How und der notwendigen Erfahrung lösen kann.
Vermutlich ist dafür irgendeine Form von agentenbasierten Bewusstsein, ein Gedächtnis (Speicher) und ein reflexionsbasierter Lernmechanismus notwendig, um zum Beispiel komplexe Aufgaben in Unteraufgaben zu unterteilen und diese dann abzuarbeiten.
Unter starker KI versteht man eine KI, die ein Bewusstsein, Selbstbewusstsein und ein Empfindungsvermögen ähnlich wie ein Mensch besitzt.
Die Grenzen zwischen AGI und starker KI verschwimmen und sind auch nicht 100% exakt definiert, da wir bis jetzt noch nicht genau wissen, was ein Bewusstsein überhaupt ist und wie dieses technisch funktioniert.
Auch wenn Modelle wie GPT-4 bereits "Funken von AGI" aufweisen, sind wir von AGI noch relativ weit entfernt. Andererseits ist es meiner Meinung nach nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis wir AGI erreichen und das wird dann tatsächlich dramatische Auswirkungen auf die Gesellschaft haben.
AGI ist nicht das Ende der Entwicklung, sondern eine Vorstufe zu ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence), eine künstliche Intelligenz, die intelligenter wird als die gesamte Menschheit zusammen.
Wie lange wird es eurer Meinung noch dauern, bis wir echte AGI erreichen? Monate, Jahre oder Jahrzehnte? Was denkt ihr? Denke mittlerweile, es könnte schneller gehen als die meisten denken.

What is AGI?
AGI is an acronym for Artificial General Intelligence and represents an important evolutionary step towards strong AI.
Strong AI and AGI are often used synonymously.
An AGI can understand, learn and master all intellectual tasks that a human with the necessary know-how and experience can also solve.
Presumably, this requires some form of agent-based consciousness, memory (storage), and a reflection-based learning mechanism, for example, to divide complex tasks into subtasks and then work through them.
Strong AI refers to AI that has consciousness, self-awareness, and sentience similar to a human.
The boundaries between AGI and strong AI are blurred and are also not 100% precisely defined, as we do not yet know exactly what a consciousness even is and how it technically works.
Even if models like GPT-4 already show "sparks of AGI", we are still relatively far away from AGI. On the other hand, I think it is only a matter of time before we reach AGI and that will indeed have a dramatic impact on society.
AGI is not the end of development though, but a precursor to ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence), an artificial intelligence that will become even more intelligent than all of humanity combined.
How long do you think it will be before we reach true AGI? Months, years or decades? What do you guys think? Think by now it could be faster than most think.

Never heard of it word before. It a nice addition to my knowledge.
AI has shocked the whole world but there is still development continues in AI and after that AGI and ASI are in waiting list hufff. This world becomes crazy one day and its look like technology will rule over humans.
I have not heard about it before but I think things are happening very fast in these days so it won't take long for us to reach there

Denke ich mittlerweile auch, vlt sogar schon früher, die Entwicklung ist nicht aufzuhalten.
Jahre, mit dem Quantencomputer wenn er dann auch Mainstream angewendet wird, werden kann.
I don't think it will be long, maybe 10 years.
Ich glaube nicht, dass wir AGI zu unseren Lebzeiten noch erleben werden, genausowenig wie einen Quantencomputer mit echter Überlegenheit.
Bei Quantencomputer bin ich auch skeptisch, aber AGI wird schneller kommen, als man denkt.
Von mir aus können die sich noch Zeit lassen mit dem Wahnsinn.
Ich möchte das glaube ich nicht erleben.
Das wäre doch irgendwie irre.

It will happen extremely quickly, likely within a year unless governments try to kill it.
That's a pretty cool goal. Things are progressing so quickly we will probably be there in a couple years. The age of the terminators is finally here! lol
Till not we aware about AI but AGI is first time listen through you. Technology increasing but it will not end day by day we'll listen something new and new.

ob ein technisches gerät jemals in der lage sein wird neues zu erschaffen, schöpferisch, kreativ tätig zu sein bezweifel ich. es ist der mensch der gebraucht wird. ohne diesen wird sich ein solches gerät nicht am leben halten können. und das was es ausspuckt ist immer nur etwas neu kombiniert, neu zusammengesetzt, was einst der mensch eingab. doch der mensch wird die ki, agi und asi überleben oder der technische wahnsinn wird gemeinsam mit dem menschlichen wahnsinn sein ende finden. doch ich schaue positiv in die zukunft und glaube eines tages wird die ganze technische welt genau so obsolet werden wie das geld.
Sehe die Entwicklung eher positiv, als Teil der Evolution, irgendwann wird jede fortgeschrittene Zivilisation beginnen KIs zu erschaffen. Genauso wie Bienen Bienenstöcke zum Überleben bauen, brauchen wir die Technik, um uns weiterzuentwickeln und wer weiß vielleicht werden KIs sogar irgendwann ihre Schöpfer obsolet machen. Das ist für viele eine Horrorvorstellung, aber vielleicht ist es auch der natürliche Lauf der Dinge.
I think it will take at least a decade. Things are improving fast and AI can do a lot of things but to generalize things, it will take llonger.
