Tesla FSD "Full Self-Driving" is actually still Level 2 despite Elon Musk promised "Full Autonomy" in 2017. When Level 5?
Autonomes Fahren wird in 5 Stufen eingeteilt, wobei richtig autonomes Fahren erst in der Stufe 4 und 5 erreicht wird. Stufe 1 "hands on" sind konventionelle Fahrassistenzsysteme.
In diesem Video sieht man, dass trotz der gewaltigen und beeindruckenden Fortschritte der letzten Jahre, das Versprechen von Elon Musk "Full Self-Driving" zu erreichen bereits mehrmals gebrochen wurde.
Was als "Full Self-Driving" verkauft wird, ist in Wirklichkeit eher Stufe 2 "hands off", auf Autobahnen bestenfalls Stufe 3, da man das System ständig überwachen und jeder Zeit bereit sein muss zu intervenieren.
Erst ab Stufe 3 "eyes off" wird es möglich, die Aufmerksamkeit vorübergehend von der Straße zu nehmen.
Bei Stufe 3 muss man nur gelegentlich einschreiten, wenn das Auto mit einer Problemsituation nicht mehr zu recht kommt und sich beim Fahrer meldet.
Ab Stufe 4 "mind off" fährt das Auto dann wirklich im großen und ganzen autonom.
Ab Stufe 5 "steering wheel optional" braucht man auch kein Lenkrad mehr, da das Auto alle Situationen, Straßen- und Wetterbedingungen inklusive Ein/Ausparken etc. autonom beherrscht.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Wann denkt ihr, dass FSD Stufe 4 oder 5 erreichen wird?

Autonomous driving is measured with 5 levels rating, with truly autonomous driving only being achieved at levels 4 and 5. Level 1 "hands on" are conventional driving assistance systems.
In this video you can see that despite the tremendous and impressive progress made in recent years, Elon Musk's promise to achieve "Full Self-Driving" has already been broken several times.
What is sold as "Full Self-Driving" is in reality rather level 2 "hands off", on highways at best level 3, as you have to constantly monitor the system and be ready to intervene at any time.
Only at level 3 "eyes off" does it become possible to temporarily take your attention off the road.
At level 3, you only have to intervene occasionally when the car can no longer cope with a problematic situation and reports to the driver.
From level 4 "mind off", the car really does drive autonomously on the whole.
From level 5 "steering wheel optional" you even don't need a steering wheel anymore, because the car can handle all situations, street and weather conditions including parking etc. autonomously.

From my point of view, self-driving will increase the driver's troubles. He must intervene to steer and monitor the driving system, what do you think?
yeah, in its current state it's rather stressful, because you have to have your hands on the steering wheel all the time and monitor the AI. Only at level 4 and 5 you could relax while your car is driving.
Yeah I remember a while ago a lot of companies, including Ford, were claiming to have a level 4 car in production by 2021. Obviously that didn't happen. I can't wait for fully autonomous cars but unfortunately, I think we are a long ways a way at this point. Maybe by 2035?
Even automatic is boring. If I want to be driven, then I treat myself to a driver.
Ein paar Jahre wird das sicher noch dauern. Es wird rechtlich vermutlich nicht reichen, dass die Fahrzeuge genauso gut sind wie Menschen, sie müssen wohl noch deutlich sicherer sein, um zugelassen zu werden. Mit Sicherheit nicht ganz einfach.
Als absoluter Fahrmuffel kann ich es nicht erwarten, dass es endlich so weit ist! Wobei ich aktuell mit U-Bahn und Co ohnehin fast alle Strecken gut bewältigen kann.

BEER.pretty scary.. i mean, it's actually amazing at how good it can drive by itself, but the 2% of time it messes up.. crash or worse. i mean, what if it there's a kid dressed as a pylon and standing perfectly still??
Mit Level 5 kann man dann die Windschutzscheibe durch einen Bildschirm austauschen, damit man die ganze Fahrt über Werbung sehen kann, wodurch der Sprit dann 3 cent billiger wird pro Liter. 😉
