Microsoft launched ChatGPT into Bing, but you have to join a waitlist. Can AI ever scale?
Gestern hat Microsoft überraschend schnell die Integration von ChatGPT in Bing präsentiert und gelauncht und ist damit den Ankündigungen von Google Bard zuvorgekommen.
Allerdings ist die AI nur für eine sehr kleine, beschränkte Anzahl von Usern verfügbar. Wenn ihr Bing Chat ausprobieren möchtet, müsst ihr euch mit folgender URL in eine Warteliste eintragen.
Die Wartezeit lässt sich beschleunigen, indem man Edge und Bing als Default einstellt und die Bing App am Smartphone installiert. Marketing-Move.

Frage mich gerade, ob Bing Chat jemals auf alle Bing bzw. Google-User skalieren kann, da GPT extrem rechenintensiv ist. Das gleiche Problem wird auch Google haben. AI könnte bald mehr Strom als Bitcoin benötigen, wenn das nicht bereits der Fall ist 😂
Wird spannend wie gut Google Bard im Vergleich zu Bing Chat funktionieren wird.
Finde die Integration von Bing Chat übrigens gelungen, man bekommt die normalen Suchergebnisse angezeigt während die AI-Antwort in der rechten Spalte generiert wird. Klickt man auf das Bing Chat Icon vergrößert sich das Chat-Interface und man kann es ähnlich wie ChatGPT nutzen.
Neu ist, dass die Bing AI Zugriff auf aktuelle Informationen bekommt und die GPT Suchergebnisse zusammenfasst und Quellenangaben (Links) enthalten.
Bing Chat soll übrigens anders als ChatGPT gratis bleiben und mit Werbung finanziert werden. ChatGPT Plus kostet $20 im Monat.

Yesterday, Microsoft surprisingly quickly presented and launched the integration of ChatGPT in Bing, pre-empting Google Bard's announcements.
However, the AI is only available to a very small, limited number of users. If you want to try Bing Chat, you need to sign up for a waiting list using the following URL.
You can speed up the wait by setting Edge and Bing as default and installing the Bing app on your smartphone. Marketing move.
Haha, I did it install the app and signed up for the waiting list right after the launch event yesterday. Will let you know when I get Bing Chat unlocked.
Just wondering if Bing Chat will ever scale to all Bing or Google users since GPT is extremely compute intensive. Google will have the same problem. AI may soon consume more electricity than Bitcoin, if it doesn't already 😂
Will be exciting to see how well Google Bard will perform compared to Bing Chat.
Find the integration of Bing Chat successful by the way, you get the normal search results displayed on the left while the AI answer is generated in the right column. Clicking on the Bing Chat icon enlarges the chat interface and you can use it similar to ChatGPT.
What's new is that the Bing AI gets access to current information and the GPT summarizes search results and includes source information (links).
Bing Chat, by the way, unlike ChatGPT, is to remain free and be funded by advertising. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month.

haha, es gibt leider keine offiziellen Zahlen, große AI-Modelle sind bekannt dafür, dass sie einiges an Rechenpower benötigen, angeblich das 1000-fache einer normalen Websuche.
Aufgrund der von dir geschilderten Rechenpower die AI braucht, denke ich es wird erstmal ein Premiumdienst werden/bleiben. Frage ist, bietet es tatsächlich einen Mehrwert gegenüber normalen Suchalgorithmen? Hast du da schon Erfahrungen?
Hab noch nicht den Zugang freigeschalten bekommen, sondern nur die Beispiele und Leaks gesehen, denke es wird so ähnlich sein wie ChatGPT, aber besser für Suchanfragen optimiert, da Suchergebnisse zusammengefasst werden. Kann mir schon vorstellen, dass das einen gewissen Nutzen haben kann, aber das wird sich in der Praxis dann zeigen, wie gut die Antworten wirklich sind. Im Idealfall braucht man nicht mehr die Webseiten öffnen, sondern bekommt gleich die Antwort / Zusammenfassung, die man gesucht hat. Man kann Bing Chat aber auch zum Generieren von Code oder Texten verwenden wie ChatGPT und das sogar kostenlos. Das könnte ein Killer-Feature von Bing werden.

Lol they are already starting to steal technologies haha nobody wants to be left behind, i think this will be the new "google" , really soon people will start to use that instead of google
It really will come down to if it's any good. At twenty dollars a month I'm not sure they will get many long term commitments as others are rushing to bring their own versions to market. Let's hope they have dumped the bias though!

I think Microsft did a great job investing in AI 3 years ago and I am sure that Google is afraid. It's going to be a viable alternative to the search engines and I like having more options.
