Fuel cell technology is becoming the best alternative for carbon-combustion energy. Fuel cell Energy and Bloom energy have emerged as the key players in this field. Both the stocks are will positioned to profit from surging demand and climate change.

New proposition from the president Biden to spend 2 trillion dollars on fighting climate change has fueled these two stocks to soars almost 5 times.

Bloom Energy

The company sells solid oxide fuel cell generators called Bloom Energy Servers which generate electricity from natural gas or bio gas via an electrochemical process without combustion. These servers essentially replaces diesel generators in commercial and industrial uses an help to reduce carbon dioxide pollution by over two thirds.

Fuel Cell Energy

The company designs and manufactures environmentally responsible distributed base load power solutions through proprietary molten-carbonate fuel cell technology. The firm's fuel cell solution is an alternative to traditional combustion-based power generation and is complementary to an energy mix consisting of intermittent sources of energy, such as solar and wind turbines. It provides solutions for various applications, including utility-scale distributed generation, on-site power generation, combined heat and power, distributed hydrogen, carbon capture and hydrogen-based long duration storage.

Future

I think fuel cells are getting to be efficient and cheap enough to be considered by utilities and businesses. The companies above has shown value as a source of cost-effective backup power. As costs continue to come down, it'll become a cost-effective source of core power.
