The ACE2 Receptor is Located in Multiple Tissues of the Human Body

This article from 2004 shows that the ACE2 receptor, the use that SARS-CoV2 attaches to enter cells is located in multiple tissues of the human body, specially in lung alveolar epithelial cells, enterocytes, vascular endothelial cells, and arterial smooth muscle cells. This particular distribution helps us understand the clinical manifestations of COVID-19.
