picture_hive_covid_news_updates.jpg

This article is a cross sectional study of 381 consecutive patients who showed up to the emergency department with a SARS-CoV-2 infection and after they recovered from a severe COVID-19 were referred for a postrecovery health check.

The study showed that PTSD was found in 115 participants (30.2%) out of the 381. other psychiatric diagnoses were almost present. Risk factors were the female sex, history of other psychiatric issues and delirium/agitation during the acute illness.

PTSD is a condition that will need to be anticipted so that the proper follow ups are arranged. It would be beneficial to have a similar study with a control group and a larger sample size..
