Hello friends addicted to science, today I bring you a post dedicated to the evolution of the mills, previously I was able to visit some tide mills and believe me they are incredible only that they have a small problem... Well I would say a big problem... They are totally dependent of nature, to work the water mills need to process the seeds with the change of the tides, obviously they are the first mills to appear in history! They date back to the era of the Roman Empire many centuries ago! but since we are a species that always seeks comfort and reduces manual work centuries after having invented the tide and air mill, the automated mill is created!!! Hola amigos adictos a la ciencia hoy les traigo un post destinado a la evolucion de los molinos, anteriormente pude visitar algunos molinos de marea y creeme son increibles solo que tienen un pequeño problema... Bueno diria un gran problema... Son totalmente dependientes de la naturaleza, para funcionar los molinos de agua necesitan procesar las semillas con el cambio de las mareas, obviamente son los primeros molinos en aparecer en la historia! datan de la era del imperio romano hace muchos siglos! pero como somos una especie que siempre busca el confort y reducir el trabajo manual siglos despues de haber inventado el molino de marea y de aire se crea el molino automatizado!!! acompañame en esta pequeña experiencia para ver como funciona!🌏🤯👨🏫🧠
HOW IS A TIDE MILL🌾🌿/ COMO ES UN MOLINO DE MAREA🧭👨🏫🚩
I never repeat neither post nor images but I had to extract these images from one of my previous posts where I show a tide mill so you have an idea of how they work! here in the photo you can see the "Mourisca tide mill" was built next to the Tejo river slope! In reality, the tide mills had to be built in a watershed, usually rivers, or on the coast to work! so the land where it had to be built was a specific area since the high tide is what allows the gear system to work! The advantage of an automated mill is that it relied solely on human labor and water is no longer a problem!😎🤔🚩
Nunca repito ni post ni imagenes pero tuve que extraer estas imagenes de uno de mis post anteriores donde muestro un molino de marea para que tengas una idea de como funcionan! aqui en la foto puedes ver el "molino de marea de Mourisca" fue construido a lado de la vertiente del rio Tejo! en realidad los molinos de marea para que funcionaran debian ser construido dentro de una vertiente acuatica, generalmente son rios, o en la costa! por lo que el terreno donde debia ser construido era una zona especifica ya que la marea alta es la que permite el funcionamiento del sistema de engranaje! la ventaja de un molino automatizado es que dependia unicamente de la mano de obra humana y el agua ya no es un problema!🧠🤯😨

Continuando con la explicacion resumida aqui vemos como la fuerza del agua es capaz mediante unas aspas mover el sistema de engranaje que a su vez mueve un eje central donde esta conectada una piedra redonda que es la encargada de triturar las semillas! en la foto siguiente puedes ver los detalles de las piezas de madera que parecen embudos, alli se colocaban las diferentes semillas que iban desde centeno hasta trigo caian en la piedra que posteriormente las trituraba convirtiendolas en polvo y en resumidas cuentas asi trabaja un sistema de molino de marea! si quieres ver mas fotos visita mi antiguo post!🧭💥🌊

Another problem with tide mills is that one person always had to stay on the premises to start the mill when the tide changed: low-high, so over time it was a good idea to create a job for a specific person who He would live in the mill all his life and who would do maintenance and open the gates for the entrance of water! This character could live in the mill with his whole family and have a guaranteed job for life! With the advancement of automated mills, a little more jobs are created because some mechanics are needed to maintain the machinery! and someone permanently living in the mill was no longer needed!😍😍
Otro problema que presentaban los molinos de marea es que siempre debia quedarse una persona en las instalaciones para poner a funcionar el molino cuando hay cambios de marea: baja- alta por tanto con el tiempo fue una buena idea crear un trabajo para una persona especifica que viviria en el molino toda su vida y quien haria manutencion y abria las compuertas para la entrada del agua! este personaje podia vivir en el molino con toda su familia y tener un trabajo garantizado de por vida! con el avance de los molinos automatizados se crean un poco mas de puestos de trabajos porque se necesitan algunos mecanicos para hacer mantenimiento a la maquinaria! y ya no se necesitaba alguien permanentemente viviendo en el molino!😅😅
The gear and transport system was very similar to the tide mills, only that the automated mills had some improvements such as belts, conduits to transport the material and obviously something that made a big difference "ELECTRICITY" electricity was not used in the old mills but here they were very important, therefore we have an idea that they began to be built in the 20th century, this particular mill was standing until the 60's then it closed its doors and became a museum! For me these things must be visited and never forgotten because they are part of our history!😏😏
El sistema de engranaje, y transporte era muy similiar a los molinos de marea solo que los molinos automatizados presentaban algunas mejoras como correas, conductos para transportar el material y obviamente algo que marco una gran diferencia "ELECTRICIDAD" no se empleaba electricidad en los molinos antiguos pero aqui eran muy importante por tanto tenemos una idea que comenzaron a construirse en el siglo XX, este molino en particular estuvo de pie hasta los años 60 luego cerro sus puertas y se convirtio en un museo! para mi estas cosas deben ser visitadas y nunca olvidadas porque forman parte de nuestra historia!😄😄🧠

Estas dos fotos nos dan una idea de lo avanzado y eficiente que eran estos molinos en la primera foto podemos ver el sitio donde anteriormente iban los engranajes que eran movidos por la fuerza del agua, aqui no hay canales de agua y en lugar vemos un gran motor que mueve todo el sistema de poleas y ruedas, en la epoca este museo era una gran fuente de empleo en el distrito de sesimbra, ademas de ser un gran aporte a la economia local! en la segunda foto vemos un segundo motor encargado de mover las bandas y otros conductos que viajaban por la pared transportanto las semillas!🏭🏭
This is the lower wing engine that was in charge of moving the entire mechanical system in this room! it was a powerful engine of german origin and it was top technology in the 30th century, the parts were not made in portugal so when they had to be replaced they had to be brought from germany! It's fantastic how today with some modifications the engine works!🤔🤔
Este es el motor del ala inferior que se encargaba de mover todo el sistema mecanico en esta sala! era un motor poderoso de origen aleman y que era tecnologia de primera en el siglo 30, las piezas no se fabricaban en portugal por tanto cuando habia que reemplazarlas debian ser traidas de alemania! es fantastico como hoy en dia con algunas modificaciones el motor funciona!😮😮
the engine was called Hornsby-Stockport and it was very strange because the entire mechanical system was created in a unique and original way, they were placed on the market in 1918, these engines were synonymous with the arrival of the industrial age in Portugal! One of the problems with the old mills was that the wheat had to be carefully cleaned before taking it to the mill so as not to contaminate the flour powder with wood, iron and other contaminating agents! el motor era llamado Hornsby-Stockport y era muy extraño porque todo el sistema mecanico eran creados de una forma unica y original, fueron colocados en el mercado en 1918, estos motores eran sinonimo de la llegada de la era industrial en Portugal! uno de los problemas que presentaban los molinos antiguos era que el trigo debia ser limpio cuidadosamente antes de llevarlo al molino para no contaminar la harina en polvo con madera, hierro y otros agentes contaminantes! en los molinos como estos habia un sistema de conductos y separadores que eliminaban impurezas de las semillas! ahorrando horas de trabajo!🏭👨🏫

Llegamos a la planta alta del molino y nuestro guia Fernando nos va explicando como las semillas que venian de muchas partes de la region terminaban debajo donde eran colocadas en los conductos que las subian hasta aqui para pasar por el proceso de limpieza, luego pasaban a un embudo que comunicaba la planta alta con la planta baja hasta llegar por unas canaletas a otras piezas que posteriormente con piedras molian las semillas! en esta planta podemos ver que tambien hay un motor🌾🌾
