Rebuilding Raspibot: power system

Today I will talk about how I am powering Raspibot as I mentioned in yesterdays post.

I am going to use a Lithium Polymer battery normally used in radio control aircraft. I picked a 2S unit that normally outputs about 7.4 volts and then run it thu a voltage regulator that outputs the 5V DC used by the Raspberry Pi and Crickit. The voltage regulator is capable of a maximum current of 6A which will be enough to power Raspibot. I may look into getting a larger 2S battery to allow for longer operational time later. I have yet to do a runtime test, maybe over the next day or so.
