CREATING AN ELLIPSE

Hello hivers, am back again to redress how to make an ellipse using circle method.

First of all when making drawing in engineering there are different tools that aid our drawing which makes it very easy to access. So today before I go into the steps on how to make the ellipse I will list out all the engineering tools I made use of for the drawing.

THE TOOLS USED FOR THE DRAWING

1. Drawing paper A2
2. Tee square
3. Set square
4. Ruler
5. Rotary set
6. Eraser
7. French curve
8. Drawing board.
   Let me start by first saying the uses of the tools I listed. The drawing board is where we place our papers anytime we want to make drawings. The tee square is just like a long ruler with a T shaped handle which is used to make a drawing straight. The set square is always used for drawing angle side with line, they are mostly used in isometric drawings. Ruler is use for making line straight or align. Rotary set it is where the compass, divider erasers, and so on are found. The are used for construction of angles and making arcs.
   

In drawing erasers is a thing that can't be done without. Drawing without eraser would make your drawing incomplete because eraser is used for correcting mistakes made while making constructions.
French curve is used for drawing a curve in construction. Pencil is used for making the main construction and while the drawing paper it is where the whole drawing is being made.

So starting I place my paper on the board and hold it with a paper tape so as to make it firm to the board and won't allow it to shake. This is mostly and always used to make work in drawing neat.

So to start the drawing I placed my tee square firmly to meet the edge of the drawing board,this enable us to be able to make a straight line when drawing, so I made a straight line of any length but when drawing the line,it has to be a thin line because it is not the main thing we are drawing.

Then I made a bigger circle with a radius picking my center from the line whine I drew earlier, so I drew another smaller circle inside the big circle again with the same center.
I divide the circle into four part and also I later continued the division of the circle to twelve equal parts. After I finished doing the division, I picked the first line of the division and drew a line upward and downward, I did it for the second line also till I made for the four line upward and downward.

I pick the horizontal line from the smaller circle and drew the line till it made intersection with the vertical line draw before.

So to make the ellipse any where the the two line meet mark the point then join them with a French curve through the smaller circle.

With that we have completed the creation of ellipse using circle.
