Finding Planets, Stars and Constellations: Sadalmelik

Sadalmelik is the second brightest star in the Aquarius constellation. It is situated 520 light years from Earth. It is also known as Alpha Aquarii. It has about 53 times the radius of the Sun and 5.1 times its mass

In a location situated at approximately N 44°, W 84° during the month of December around 7pm, Sadalmelik is situated approximately at azimuth 225°, altitude 36° using the horizontal coordinate system. This means that one has to look south west and lift the head to about 40° with respect to the horizon.
