Finding Planets, Stars and Constellations: Sadalsuud

Sadalsuud is the brightest star in the Aquarius constellation. It is situated 540 light years from Earth. It is also known as Beta Aquarii. It has about 6 times the radius of the Sun

In a location situated at approximately N 44°, W 84° during the month of December around midnight, Sadalsuud is situated approximately at azimuth 249°, altitude 13° using the horizontal coordinate system. This means that one has to look between west and south west and lift the head to about 15° with respect to the horizon.
