Paper Press

(Edited)

Today I would like to introduce my little project: a press for the production of paper profiles
I was inspired by this young man:

The whole thing should cost as little as possible, I still had most of the materials lying around somewhere
The frame consists of squared timber and threaded rods, so the height can be easily adjusted and the construction weighs little

I wanted to make a beam because I thought it was a relatively simple and stable construction ...
I then printed the necessary parts and assembled everything, everything that should later come into contact with the paper mache I laid out with baking paper
The shape consisted of 4 parts, the upper part with a profile, the lower part with a profile and the two sides were simply made of squared timber

I had found a 2T jack and wanted to transfer the force of the ram as centrally as possible and built a kind of damper, which actually wasn't necessary ... afterwards you are always smarter

When everything was prepared, I then stirred everything together
I took the paper with me from work, we have a paper shredder there and it produces a lot of material
I built a mixer out of a threaded rod and a printed part
I made the right mixture by feeling (water & some paste)

Then I started to press, it should be ensured that everything was positioned exactly in the middle
When I released the jack, everything looked relatively good
The only thing I didn't really think about beforehand was molding, which then turned out to be fatal
The part could not be removed without destroying it

But I really wanted to create a usable part as long as the mass hadn't dried
I then simply removed the printed profile at the top and bottom, greased the shape a little and then pressed it again
The result could then also be shaped and dried

Because everything was more or less created in the living room, I am very satisfied with the results, I plan more shapes and would like to experiment with the mass again
Unfortunately, the pictures were all taken with the mobile phone and often you don't really have a hand free to take a decent picture when doing handicrafts
I would be happy to receive suggestions and questions
