Hola chicos, alguno sabe ¿Cuales son los equipos médicos de un quirófano?, ¿Que función cumplen y como identificarlos?, si no lo sabes, llegaste al post indicado, hoy les mostrare cada equipo, su función y como son.

Lo primero que debemos entender es, que son equipos quirúrgicos, su diferencia del instrumental quirúrgico y personal quirúrgico mal llamado tambien equipo quirúrgico.

The first thing to understand is, what are surgical teams, their difference from surgical instruments and surgical personnel, also known as surgical team.

• Equipos quirúrgicos: son todos aquellos equipos adicionados con antisépticos, destinados a las intervenciones quirúrgicas ambulatorias o general, para darle atención necesaria a un paciente.

• Surgical equipment: all equipment with antiseptic additives, intended for outpatient or general surgical interventions, to provide the necessary care to a patient.

• Instrumental Quirúrgico: instrumentos destinados a fines quirúrgicos, para cortar, perforar, serrar, escarificar, raspar, pinzar, retraer, recortar u otros procedimientos similares, sin estar conectados a ningún dispositivo médico, y que puede volver a utilizarse una vez efectuados todos los procesos de limpieza y esterilización.

• Surgical instruments: instruments intended for surgical purposes, for cutting, drilling, sawing, scarifying, scraping, clamping, retracting, trimming or other similar procedures, which are not connected to any medical device, and which can be reused after all cleaning and sterilisation processes have been carried out.

Personal Quirúrgico: es la unidad de profesionales, capacitados que proporciona una serie continua del cuidado del paciente antes, durante y después de la cirugía. El personal se clasifica en dos según sus responsabilidades y el nivel de esterilidad de los instrumentos y el individual, para con la proximidad del paciente.

Surgical Staff: is the unit of trained, professional staff that provides a continuum of patient care before, during and after surgery. Staff are classified into two categories according to their responsibilities and the level of sterility of instruments and the individual, in terms of patient proximity.

•   Estéril: Cirujano, Ayudante del cirujano e instrumentista.
•   No estéril: Anestesiólogo, circulante, Ing Biomédico entre otros.

•   Sterile: Surgeon, assistant surgeon and instrumentalist.
•   Non-sterile: Anaesthesiologist, circulator, Biomedical Engineer, among others.

Entonces entendiendo esto podemos proseguir con cuales son los equipos médicos básicos y cuales son los complejos. Los aparatos que mencionare son de manera enunciativa mas no limitativa, ya que dependerá de cada política de un hospital o clínica cuan amplio quiere su stock de equipos quirúrgicos.

With this in mind, we can proceed with the basic medical equipment and the complex medical equipment. The devices that I will mention here are not exhaustive, as it will depend on the policy of each hospital or clinic as to how extensive it wants its stock of surgical equipment to be.

Aspirador: este equipo es una pequeña bomba que genera una presión negativa (succión), para aspirar los residuos y sangre durante la cirugía, para de esta manera mantener limpia la zona intervenida y no generar una asepsias. Los residuos caen en un contenedor que luego sera lavado y esterilizado.

Aspirator: this equipment is a small pump that generates a negative pressure (suction), to aspirate the waste and blood during surgery, in order to keep the surgical area clean and not to generate an asepsis. The waste falls into a container which is then washed and sterilised.

Calentador de aire: este sistema es utilizado para las mantas de calor que abrigan al paciente. Consta de un pequeño tubo de acople cilíndrico que va a la manta, por el que circula el aire caliente, este equipo tambien regula la temperatura dependiendo la necesidad del paciente.

Air heater: this system is used for heating blankets to keep the patient warm. It consists of a small cylindrical coupling tube that goes to the blanket, through which the hot air circulates, this equipment also regulates the temperature depending on the patient's needs.

Lamparas quirúrgicas: Están diseñadas para facilitar la iluminación durante la cirugía y asegurar condiciones de iluminación adecuada. Para mas información sobre este equipo haga clic sobre lamparas quirúrgicas.

Surgical lights: They are designed to facilitate illumination during surgery and ensure adequate lighting conditions. For more information on this equipment click on surgical lights.

Mesa Quirúrgica: no se puede imaginar un quirófano sin una mesa operatoria, pues en ella descansara el paciente durante toda la cirugía y dará mayor comodidad al personal durante la cirugía, ya que esta puede colocarse en diferentes posiciones.

Surgical table: it is impossible to imagine an operating theatre without an operating table, as the patient will rest on it throughout the surgery and it will provide greater comfort to the staff during the surgery, as it can be placed in different positions.

Patient monitor: this equipment is in charge of monitoring the patient's vital signs, during the surgery, all the surgical staff always followed it to be aware of the patient's condition. Click on the following link for more information. Vital signs monitor

Monitores de video: estos equipos son literalmente televisores, ya que cuando se ameritan cirugías más complejas donde se hace uso de equipos por imagen se deben tener ubicados en diferentes ángulos para una mayor visibilidad del por parte del personal.

Video monitors: these are literally televisions, as when more complex surgeries are required where imaging equipment is used, they should be placed at different angles for greater visibility for staff.

Unidad Electroquirurgica: se usan en cirugias para coagular, cortar o alterar tejidos. Esto ayuda a restringir el flujo sanguíneo en un área corporal específica y mejora la visibilidad durante un procedimiento quirúrgico.

Electrosurgical unit: used in surgery to coagulate, cut or alter tissue. This helps restrict blood flow to a specific body area and improves visibility during a surgical procedure.

Complex Equipment

Arco en “C”: este equipo usa los Rayos X (RX) para la obtención de imágenes radiológicas en tiempo real, lo que permite mostrar el progreso de la cirugía en cualquier punto del procedimiento. Su nombre se debe a su forma semicircular.

C-arm: This equipment uses X-rays (X-rays) to obtain radiological images in real time, allowing the progress of the surgery to be displayed at any point of the procedure. It is named after its semi-circular shape.

Desfibrilador: sirven para tratar afecciones letales como la fibrilación ventricular, las arritmias cardíacas y la taquicardia. Cuando la energía eléctrica se administra a través de una dosis terapéutica, el desfibrilador cesa la arritmia y restablece el ritmo en el corazón del paciente.

Defibrillator: These are used to treat life-threatening conditions such as ventricular fibrillation, cardiac arrhythmias and tachycardia. When electrical energy is delivered through a therapeutic dose, the defibrillator stops the arrhythmia and restores rhythm to the patient's heart.

Maquina de Anestesia: Es el responsable de sedar y dar soporte vital al paciente durante la cirugía.

Anaesthesia machine: It is responsible for sedating and giving life support to the patient during surgery.

Ultrasonido de diagnostico: este sistema ofrece un método indoloro para examinar el cuerpo y no recurre a la radiación, el equipo se usa principalmente para medir la densidad, el tamaño y la estructura de la masa interna del cuerpo humano y tambien ayuda a identificar posibles anomalías

Diagnostic ultrasound: this system offers a painless method of examining the body without the use of radiation, the equipment is primarily used to measure the density, size and structure of the internal mass of the human body and also helps to identify possible abnormalities.

Torre de Laparascopia: la torre de laparascopia esta forma por el monitor, a través del cual visualizamos, gracias a la cámara, el campo donde se va a realizar la operación. Y una serie de aparatos que se encargan de controlar la introducción del neumoperitoneo y la calidad de imagen.

Laparoscopy tower: the laparoscopy tower is formed by the monitor, through which we visualise, thanks to the camera, the field where the operation is going to be performed. And a series of devices that control the introduction of the pneumoperitoneum and the quality of the image.

Es importante conocer de estos equipos, ya que muchas veces cuando se les van a realizar cirugías a familiares o a nosotros, no conocemos nada y el simple hecho de ser operados nos da temor y aun mas cuando entramos a quirófano y todo nos parece muy extraño, teniendo un conocimiento sobre lo que existe dentro nos ayudara a bajar el nivel de temor y estrés.

It is important to know about this equipment, because many times when we or our family members are going to undergo surgery, we do not know anything about it and the simple fact of being operated on makes us fearful and even more so when we enter the operating theatre and everything seems very strange to us. Having knowledge about what is inside will help us to lower the level of fear and stress.
