Nah, I think it's a combination of all those except for the US takedown one.
This is how little faith I have in the American government right now.

Not many in the survey or in discussions, thought it was the U.S. offensive cyber forces that was behind it.
from what I've seen of the cybersecurity community on LinkedIn and Twitter, a good deal of them have become almost as politicized as the natsec community.
it doesn't matter in which way either; putting aside reality to conform to political goals affects competence.
