In the early days of the Personal Computer revolution, computer technology was empowering people.
Then Bill Gates happened. PCs no longer empower people. They appear to be controlling people.
The same happened with the Internet. In the first days of the Internet, the net was empowering people. The dot bombs destroyed eCommerce and then social media stomped in and destroyed the independent web.
Something really bad has is happening in our culture.
