Record setting bird flies at least 8,425 miles (13,560 km) in a non-stop flight

In October, a bar-tailed godwit, like the one pictured above, had flown non-stop from Alaska to Tasmania. It took the five-month old tagged bird just over 11 days. At this point, this is a record when it comes to a non-stop flight by a bird.

It is extremely impressive how unusual some of the natural adaptations are in the animal world. Migratory patterns of animals is one of those amazing adaptations.

Indeed amazing, it seems they may have to travel to stay alive, perhaps a part of evolution.
