If only we could move Jupiter around...

Jupiter's orbit is nearly circular. A new study has found that if it were more elliptical, the same would happen to Earth's orbit, thus bringing the Earth closer to the Sun for part of the year and making our planet more habitable.

This makes sense. Not that we could act on it even if we wanted to - but this is curious. This is also a typical example of purely theoretical science.
