Maiden Flight Nuri from South Korea [Live: 21.10.2021, 07:00 UTC]
(Edited)
Maiden flights are always exciting. Proven by the recent to failures to reach orbit by Astra
and Firefly Alpha
This time around it is Nuri by KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute). It will launch from Naro Space Center, Goheung, South Korea and deliver a 1'500 kg place holder payload to sun-synchronous orbit.
Comparison with other small-lift launcher projects:
Rocket | Height [m] | Diameter [m] | Payload to SSO [kg] |
---|---|---|---|
Nuri | 47 | 3,5 | 1'500 |
Firefly Alpha | 29 | 1,8 | 630 |
Electron | 18 | 1,2 | 200 |
