Last Flight of the Year for SpaceX - CRS 24 for NASA [Live: 21.12.2021, 10:06 UTC]
In total SpaceX will have flown 31 missions in 2021. 17 were for their own Starlink constellation.
The launch manifest for 2021 close with a resupply mission to the ISS. This is the fourth flight out of 6 contracted missions.
The booster is a brand new Block 5. This is only the second new booster flown this year. The other was also on a CRS mission. The Dragon capsule is on its second mission.
The mission LEO will launch from Complex 39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Payload mass is ~ 3000 kg.
Payloads:
- Handheld bio tissue first aid bandage printer
- Monoclonal antibody crystallization experiment
- Turbine blisk casting experiment
- A study of bacteria resistant polymers for surfaces
- An experiment to do laundry in space - important for long term missions to Mars.
Weather conditions are currently a littley dicey with a 70% chance of violation (45th Weather Squadron). The backup date 24 hours later has a 70% chance of good weather conditions.

Wait, are those really the payloads? Those are so cool! And it's so awesome because it's literally the exact definition of "what would I do if I could basically do anything I wanted and money didn't matter?" He is in that sweet spot extreme few people reach, where money is no object, really. And power is not an objective, for the most part. And he's tried everything. And doesn't need anything or want for anything. And the only thing left is to explore and experiment.
