Pocket calendars - Self-propelled Swiss carriage 1826 - USSR 1976 - 2000 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

Yesterday, it was a very exciting day for my whole family.

We have sorted the collection of pocket calendars by year.

Previously, they were arranged in a box according to their theme.

It took half a day, but it was interesting.

These calendars have gone through many moves from one city to another, but, something, managed to survive.

One of the calendars approximately, shows the range of years that are present in my collection, a little narrower, lol.

This calendar depicts a self-propelled carriage.

Imagine for a moment what the people who. for the first time, we saw a carriage moving without the aid of horses.

This is the same feeling I, and other students in my class, experienced. when I got this weird calendar.

When I brought this calendar to school, everyone forgot about classes and, in turn, calculated the day of the week on which their birthday would be in different years.

At that moment, it seemed that nothing more perfect could be invented. It was a kind of paper computer.

On its reverse side, a wheel is installed, turning which, one could find out the exact day of the week during the period from 1976 to 2000.

This calendar. Toda, they called the perpetual calendar, but this eternity ran very quickly and, today, in the yard. 2020 year.

Interestingly, this calendar was released in 1984, but its range has not changed.

The calendar from 1084 to 2008 will logically represent, but no. It is always more profitable to use one template over the years, and this is exactly what publishers did.

I have seen similar calendars released in 1982 and 1986. These calendars were quite expensive and well replenished the country's budget.

When describing this calendar. some data I had to guess.

For example, the city in which this calendar was released.

On the back of the calendar, in the upper right corner. you see a red boat. This is the symbol of Leningrad, now St. Petersburg.

The inscription on the wheel reads: Determine the day of the week of any date in the past, present and future.

Then, the publishers of this calendar. did not know that the future, for the USSR, will end much earlier than the calendar provides.

To be continued.

You can see the evolution of the history of my pocket calendars collection on my Stemgeeks blog.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.

Hi I don't think everything is Soviet, you will like it, lol. I was born and raised in the USSR and remember well that Soviet children looked more towards the west)) Children kept labels from Dornald chewing gum, due to the fact that they smelled like chewing gum and they had bright and colorful pictures, one of examples, and, back then, these labels were valued more than the calendars of the old days. Have a great day!
