Technology in Learning & Education

avatar

We are surrounded by Technology and now its difficult to imagine life without it since going back to traditional life is almost impossible now. Technology is getting involved in many new filed and also wherever it already exists then its making things smart. Starting from morning and until night we use a lot of technology in various forms.

These days online learning is getting more attention and its one of the areas where we can see lots of action in development. Covid can be one of the reasons as well since many schools and colleges are not running physical classes and focusing more on the online method to make it better and interesting for students.

Now education and learning are easy, interesting and convenient too since we can attend classes from anywhere in the world and its just need a device with an internet connection. It was difficult to imagine this 20 years back because at that time we did not have this kind of atmosphere and even the internet was not that much easily available. Now we have high-speed data available across the countries. With the 4g technology, we are able to access high-speed data even if we don't have broadband availability and this is one of the good things for sure.

On average, less than 20 percent of learners complete a course with certification, and less than 10 percent watch all the recorded video content. In India, the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), funded by the Ministry of Education, is relatively successful in attracting more than 20 lakh students every semester to its online courses.

Now online courses are prepared and with each passing year, we can see a good number of students applying for such courses. Earlier there was the option to attend the course offline or online but things have gone to the next level. There are many courses that are available only online and there is no option to attend the class offline. In India itself every year more than 2 million new students are joining online courses and its am an impressive milestone.

Learning 24 x 7 is a new culture and its all because of advanced technology so no matter where you are and what time it is but you always have the option to learn what you want. Live classes will certainly have a fixed time slot but going through the recorded session is always available and can be accessed anytime. The online learning method is also used by kids in primary classes as covid has made things difficult for schools. Its been more than one year and now schools have developed their infrastructure to provide seamless learning with online classes.

Overall I believe that technology is playing an effective role in education and making it better day by day. There is a lot to come and I hope that in the next few years we are going to have a robust education system backed by technology and it might also open doors for blockchain implementation.

Thank you so much.

Yes, it's true that technology is revolutionizing educational sector. And it really began to take effect when we were faced with the pandemic

We aren't going back to the times when we were without technology, unless, God decides it.

We are moving forward to more and more innovations, courtesy of technology.

Great post! I would add that online learning raises the importance of parental guidance. Parents should always be the primary "teachers" for their children, but online education highlights this role even greater than before

for sure parents are the first teacher but still we need schools for formal education and technology is bringing it online.
