Ancient settlements are important for scientists for knowledge, and the objects of their discovery will eventually find their way to museums for display and public knowledge. Ancient settlements are also important for treasure hunters, and valuable and rare objects found, mostly, will be in the collection of antique fans.

Here we only emphasize the importance of finding these settlements. Literature research is certainly the first work done to be able to find the ancient settlement. And then, all knowledge and experience concerning humans and nature, is the greatest capital that must be had to be able to find.

For example:

Location: Batee, Pidie, Aceh-Sumatra.

Big and small stones scattered on the shores of the sea is actually an initial clue. Here you see a process of geomorphological changes taking place. The cliff of a hill has long fallen. The movement of marine hydraulises is causing it. The wind also takes a role in this matter. But, it was not only done by the two of them. Another factor is ocean currents. Ocean currents participate in the abrasion process and become an agent for geomorphological change as seen.

When we realize that the ocean currents took part in the process, up to here, the scenery that was only an initial clue, it is now a supporter of the possibility that this place could become a harbor and settlement in ancient times.

Ocean currents, despite their various interests for the climate, weather, marine ecosystems and others, to this day, still help reduce shipping costs. In the past, in the era of sailing ships, ocean currents and wind were the main engines driving ships so people from various places could cross the ocean and take advantage of the voyages.

The scenery as shown in these pictures informs about the presence of ocean currents. A settlement and a harbor deserve to be there.

That is enough for us to continue our research to find supporting evidence for the hypothesis. And in the place where you see the pictures, I have found evidence that it is indeed an ancient settlement and harbor.
