We have become tiny creatures who can barely manage tiny relationships.

Insignificant Creatures

We live in a vast universe that renders our existence insignificant.

We stubbornly looked for consolation in a rather small world, yet for centuries quite immense for our primitive resources and technology.

We worked insatiably to make this world manageable, known, smaller.

We invented weapons, fire, clothing, housing, and means of transportation; we destroyed or tamed natural and human threats and made it less intimidating, less threatening.

We shortened distances, erased language and cultural barriers, and made this world smaller. We changed the meaning of time and distance so that communication became addictively immediate, more efficient.

We got out of our small hamlets and our small tribal zones and turned the whole world into one global village. We made it possible to turn any human being on earth into a potential friend and ally.

And yet, as time passes and technology becomes more advanced and threatening, the world remains the same, but we have shrunk.

We may have millions of followers, thousands of virtual and real friends, but we have become tiny creatures who can barely manage tiny relationships.

The more knowledge available, the more uncertain we grow about everything. The more friends we make, the less we can interact with them. We have been enslaved by our own triumphs and achievements. We have been imprisoned by our own freedom.

Hello @hlezama. Yes, man did change time and distance to make communication more readily accessible. Then why do we still not have time to communicate and maintain strong and steady relationships?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I was wondering whether mages taken from Pinterest are now free to use? They weren't in the past.

Take care.

Thank you for stopping by.
There is an old saying that suggests that he who covers too much grasps too little. It applies to virtual friends and to all the distractions that have been created. It's just humanly impossible to have it all.
About the images, I don't know. I changed them, just in case.

Yep, the wider the circumference, the longer it takes to circle it. Some friends may have to wait longer according to which end they're on.

You can search the topic for that set of images to see the results.

Thanks so much for your engagement.

In a certain way, all this that is happening to us has been accumulating for decades with the loss of ethical values, to the point that we have given up having manageable relationships.

Thanks. I'm under treatment, but kidney stones have a particular way to try our strength and patience.
They can be unpredictable.
