The Ninja Phone

avatar

We all know the hit anime series by Masashi Kishimoti Naruto. Actually if you don't know it, I don't know what your doing in this community😂😂. Over the years Naruto has gathered a lot of fans from it's moment of starting till it's end. Even after it's end, for it inspired another anime series based on Naruto's son called Boruto.

Naruto's popularity poll reached another level this year as a phone company decided to create a whole phone series based on it.

Now it's not often that a technological brand nails a special edition product, but Realme has done it with it's Realme x Naruto version of the GT Neo 3 smartphone. Realme is a relatively new company just coming out 2018 and it's of the same family of Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus but I can tell you that this latest special edition has caught almost everyone's eyes in the phone industry.
Realme has made some special edition phones before but it has done nothing like this going full out on the Naruto design from the packaging in which the phone came in to the specs of the phone.

The phone arrives in a cardboard container with just the brand imprinted. Realme claims the cardboard packaging is so it's easily recycled but God knows when I get it I'm not throwing anything away😍. When you open the cardboard package that's when your breath gets hooked for other phones arrive in a cardboard box with pretty pictures drawn on it but this badass phone arrives in a scroll. Within a foam compartment rests a recreation of a Ninja scroll from the series.

The scroll is made of synthetic rubber in green and burgundy colors with the Realme x Naruto stamp on it, when the phone packaging captures your heart first you should know that they've won. The scroll is quite big, a 13-inch by 5-inch cylinder and has considerable weight. The designs also come with straps, but sadly you don't unravel this scroll 😂 they are purely decorative. The way you actually get into the scroll is to pull of an end cap

The GT Neo 3 is located in the slide-out tray of the felt-lined interior. The documentation shouldn't be disregarded, though, as it contains a unique SIM removal tool in the form of the Hidden Leaf emblem from Naruto's hometown of Konohagakure. You now arrive at the main attraction, the phone itself.

While the phone is technically the same with any other Neo 3, the outside has been given the full on Naruto makeover. With the camera module being styled on Naruto's headband, again with the Realme x Naruto branding and hidden leaf symbol, the main body is colored a bright orange with the red Uzumaki swirl in the center.

To me, I think what's most impressive is the textures and finishes of the phone. The camera modules and rivets look like you should be able to feel them but it's actually a clever 3D effect for in reality they are smooth. The bright orange section really captures the light and stands out against the black body, with the three polished lines under the camera module stands shyly proud of the case. It all comes together beautifully to give you that Naruto feel.

Returning to the package, you'll find a TPU case for the phone that has a slightly tinted finish to protect it, as well as an orange and black customized 150W SuperDart charging block from Realme. Three specifically created Naruto backgrounds are available when the phone is turned on, and the user interface is loaded with Naruto icons. Charge the phone, and the accompanying on-screen animation will also have a Naruto feel to it. This special edition smartphone is thorough and, yes, lovingly made in honor of a well-known manga character

The phone itself has great specs from it's 6.7 inch Amoled screen to the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor and a RAM of 12GB. The camera module at the back is a triple lens, a 50 mega-pixel main camera an 8MP angle camera and a 2MP angle camera. The battery charger is a Realme SuperDart charger and it charges the battery from 0% to 100% in 14 minutes.
It makes you wonder, why don't I already have this phone? Sadly it is only available in China now being a special edition phone. Thus you'll have to rely on an import service to get one, it's cost is approximately $415.

Although the phone has a flaw as it doesn't have Google Mobile service installed, while there are ways to work around this it means the hardware differences may mean it won't connect to your normal 4G or 5G network as well as a phone bought locally.

This means that anyone not in China should consider this phone a major collectible and it kinda is as only 5000 would be put on the shelves. So go get your Naruto Ninja phone for your collection.
