I view technology in a non-defeatist way.
That the device is the link to that greater world which we could have never connected to prior to device. After all, the "organism" of city is innate without each human as the cells which give it life. It's why 'smart cities' is the system which is now in early stages, in some cities, already in effect. Thus Govs all over the world are seeking to push humans all into the digital space/systems.

I've always seen MIND as the asset of each human. Body and social interaction was/is the frontier for the system of civilisation. However that was/is limiting. We can now connect as a global collective. Far into the future we will connect as an intergalactic species.

If we then push further and further into technology and the merging of the two: Biology + Technology then we have not failed (or devolved), on the contrary, whe likely achieve immortality and have ability to explore the entire cosmos. Transhumanism.

A privilege of future humans of course.
However, consciousness is immortal (IMO).
So I exist there already. I'll just need to figure out how to "rewake" into that future. This is not hyperbole either, we already do exist aware and in tune to this very system of existence.
