Wednesday Walk - Impressions of the Web Summit lisbon 2022
Hey Ho Guys, I hope you are all doing well so far.
Today I present you a little walk around over the Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon.
Lay back and enjoy ~13 minutes of unique content. Take a coffee and snack and kets goooo.
Annotation
My Hope doesn't die... Hopefully we will see #Hive or a representative person like @Roelandp for example next year there too. It would be a great opportunity to show hive to the world and get new #tech and #web3, #nft and #blockchain interested fellaz over here. So #hive had the possibility to grow more and more.
For me (because I saw the #hivefest videos) @roelandp would be a great person to speak about #hive. Of course it could be everyone who is nearly from the beginning here (I think this would be the best person, the one who is from the beginning here).
Anyway, lets get back to the main topic here (please @Roelandp think about that opportunity, the registrations for 2023 are open now... Lets gooooo... Lets show HIVE!!!)
Happy #Wednesdaywalk
to all of you guys and many thanks to the both hosts of this amazing Wednesday event, our beloved @tattoodjay and @elizacheng which are looking forward to amazing walks every week on Wednesday.
Check their newest posts and don't forget to follow them (if you didn't do it already).
- Today I present you my walk on November 2nd, 2022.
- I will show them exactly in the way (timestamp) I walked.
- Photos were taken with my Huawei P30.
The exactly Adress is:
Rossio dos Olivais, 1990-231 Lisboa
I added the address to the #pinmapple so you can find the spot more easily.
let go for a little walk
I started my way at the Harbor and walked up to the Pavilhão Atlântico (Altice Arena)
Where the #websummitlisbon2022 was.
On my way of course I found also some #art which I want to share with you.
Lets walk with me and see the outside area a bit.
Can you see it from far...? The green little thing there?
A little water dragon 🐉🐲
Here you can see from far away the 'Teleférico do Parque das Nações'.
Yes, it has a cableway or how do you call that?
Here you see the registration spot of the #websummit.
I tried my best this day to photograph not so much people bit damn it. I think on day 1 ~ 73.000 people at all where on this #conference.
When entering through the pink gate it was not finished. I had to walk in a crowd another way along to the check in number 2. I felt like on the airport. Police and security was standing there and controlling the bags, just to make sure that nothing bad happens.
A lot of such side entries where around here.
And of course seats for breakfast, lunch or brunch too.
I went from the outside to the last hall. Because I thought it was faster. I was a bit late for the Q&A with #Binance CEO #ChangpengZhao. So I walked all way around the building to the last entry.
It was really full and the people were to close to make good pics so I didn't made much at the beginning from the way in.
Finally I reached the Q&A. But it was already full and bigger people standing in front of me. Yeah, I am just 1,68 m.... Thats not soooo much. Anyway I tried to make some pics... Standing on my toes... Arms straight up 😂🤣🤗
The people in the first line was allowed to ask Changpeng Zhao questions. A shame was the sound quality. For people in the last line not the best.
You can count all heads you see here... Many came specifically for him it seems.
I wish I had his place snd camera. Would make it so much easier.
what you had ask the CEO of Binance if you had thr opportunity?
I went a bit around, the sound quality was so bad of the Binance Q&A that I continued my walk after 15 minutes of listening.
but wait, what is the websummit?
The "Web Summit" is a technology conference held in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It was founded in 2009 by Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly, and Daire Hickey. Originally this conference was in Dublin, the Capital of Ireland until 2016. Since 2016 it was permanently in Lisbon.
The "Web Summit" conference's topics are mostly on web technology, emerging technologies, start-ups and all kinds of new tech projects even blockchain topics. Web Summit's partners and speakers range from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, with representing all levels and topics of the global high technology industry.
Some famous Speakers have included a mix of CEOs, subject-matter experts, even celebrities, and global politicians, some big names were Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, Al Gore, Bono, and U.N Secretary-General António Guterres. This year the Web Summit was visited by 'her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah' (Queen of Jordan), António Costa - Prime Minister-Government of Portugal, Changpeng Zhao (Co-Founder & CEO of #binance) and the #uberfiles #whistle-blower Mark MacGann (only to name some).
Even #EdwardSnowden the #American #NSA #whistleblower was speaking there in 2019 (you can check out right here if you wanna proof it: https://websummit.com/blog/edward-snowden-web-summit-november)
Anyway, its a freaky but nice place and great for fresh #networking face to face. Not only digital. I met a lot of nice new people there.
Lets go to the 2nd Hall
AWS
Lets see who else is around here.
TREEZOR
MAERSK
all the way
First I went straight through the main way from the first Hall to the last. After we will walk wild around. Ziiiiiick Zaaaaaaack. Lol 😊😅🤣
Pitch 2 speaking at the side of an entry.
Every where something going on.
Here at the other side of the hall other speakers where just starting the talk.
I think it was a content creator talk. A well-known fitness influencer and an YouTuber were chatting about to be a creator. How all that started for them. How they grow... Stuff like that.
Tech Brasil
Lets walk to the next Hall.... Wooouupwoooup...
Pitch 3
Even #austria where here. It is an interesting project which supports and help start-ups or companies to get there business to austria or even if an austrian company wanna expand and export they are helping with there knowledge. Feel free to checck them out if you are planning something like that.
They are based in #vienna. Here you can see some of there programs and what they are doing.
Another hall another side stage where the next speaker sits and hat a talk. Explaining and motivating the people.
UNICORN factory Lisbon
Like you can see, a lot of speakers where on stage at the same time on different places, halls and pavilions. Even if you would be "the Flash" you couldn't hear all of them at the same time. So most people like me used the app kf web summit to check out which speaker is where at which time. But because of this long ways I gave up and walked around randomly after a while.
Than I had the idea to watch out for more blockchain, web3, nft, gaming, crypto and metaverse projects. Because it could not be that Binance is the only here.
Rio
Capital of innovation and joy, so they say.
At some point I was really overwhelmed by all that colorful design, and speakers and people.
Next side stage where the next speakers were talking to their audience.
At this point I thought not to see any other blockchain project any more today. But tadaaaa, I was wrong.
#polkadot was here too, to promote their blockchain and gaming. I asked the staff or volunteers about more infos, if they have a speaker here and so on, but they didn't know much or could give a clear answer so I went on.
Lets see if we find more...
The side stages had always this purple lights. So in every hall - left and right side of it - a stage which looks like that. 5 Pavillions at all.
The other side of the Pavillion the next stage got ready for the next speaker.
So many different countries even. #dubai #Portugal for sure too, #france and in earlier #photos #Japan
Love this colorful mix of cultures and #tech.
climate action software
Sounds interesting isn't it?
Here was a Masterclass going on.
from start-up to social business
I am making the future
I like that quote. So so true. Everybody of us is creating his or her own future. This is why we should be aware of the moment because the next moment is already the future and the gone one the past. A #philosophical thought on my on going #walk.
Ah finally the next blockchain project. Lets go in for a moment.
Here you see the schedule. I was there around 15 o'clock exactly when #tokenomia.pro were speaking about #web3
But for me it was a bit boring. Maybe because I was late and didn't get it from the beginning. So I walked on
You can imagine I got overwhelmed more and more by all that stages, Pavillions, halls, sideways and walks?
I even couldn't choose out which speakers I wanted to hear or was to late because the ways were soooo long.
So, I arrived at 10 am and was in until now (3/ 4 pm). Thats why I went out for a moment. From the outside the building looks like that. Interesting, modern #architecture. The cold metal web skeleton (so I call it, lol) in white, by a warm daylight had a nice atmosphere.
What do my eyes see... My stomach started to rumble and made noises. The #foodsummit. Lets see what the have there.
The #food #summit area was covered. So even if it rains (and the 2nd day it was raining, not this day, but the day after) you could stay here save dry.
Maybe I was to early and most of the food summit was still closed or it was all about #wine.
Because I don't drink any alcohol (I don't like the taste, thats it) I walked back in one of the #Pavillions
And god thanks I took this way now. Because of it I found the next blockchain and #cryptocurrency #eos.
I went to their spot and had a lovely chat with them.
The staff had more knowledge and explained pretty well and short, but on point, what EOS is. That block1 is past and since 1,5 year if I rem3right they started new. Because of their strong #community they could handle that. So let3wait and see what will be with eos in the next #bullrun. Are you holding eos? Me not really, I have only some in my #wombat wallet because of #gaming #rewards.

I said thanks and good bye and walked on
Some #technical #backstage view 😉😜
the European Space Agency
When I saw them I directly asked if they can bring me faster to mars then Elon Musk can do, okay, dman unfunny joke maybe. But the guy was smiling and it was a nice ice bre3so he cold explain me their project. And its even #opensource.
If you like you can check them out right here:
https://www.esa.int/
About ESA
The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.
This little construction and device could measure the co2 content, as well as find out whether you are a smoker or non-smoker. The instructions on how to build it is available from this company as a free manual and open source. Who likes: check it out.
I continued my walk... Slowly with burning feeds. Already up since 5 am, walking mostly.... But my eyes discovered an IT store what was exactly what I needed because my phone battery was nearly dying and I needed a power bank and got one. Perfectoooo.
Aaaaw, but I couldn't hold back because I already saw the next blockchain brand... #1INCH...
They offered free #merge like t-shirts, leggings or stickers you can see all on the pics.
On the table in the back they offered even cake. But I was more interested to talk to someone to ask if they have speakers here or if they are promoting something special. The one I talked to was, lets say, reserved. She was friendly but seems not to know much about what is going on, let's say it like that. So I grabbed a leggings for free and some stickers because she was friendly and offered me and went on the walk and way.
First I wanted to make a break here to get a coffee but it was so fullnof people that I decided to walk on
And there the next #cryptocurrency
#filecoin
I went closer and in to see what's going on here. I directly arrived when a speaker was talking to his audience about filecoin.
The sound quality of the mic was bad. I couldn't understand what he said because the background music was a bit louder than the voice. Anyway i looked around and went my way on.
Still it was a nice decoration and #design. Freaky #futuristic or what you think?
The next nice quote in big letters on my way out. It wad already around 16:30 if I remember right (I am writing this freestyle out of my mind right now).
I was looking for coffee but didn't wanted to wait for it so long. A challenge here.
Everybody wanted coffee or food. Lol
As I stood outside and turned in a circle around to show a friend the surrounding via Telegram, I saw the main hall and remembered that I wasn't in there yet.
Before leaving the conference I wanted to check what is on going inside so I went in.
I was at the right time at the right place and could listen finally to the most interesting speaker of this day.
Mark MacGann, the #whistle-blower of the #UBERfiles was on stage and speaking about that scandal. If you didn't saw my #3speak video about it, check it out here:

It was really impressive to see. Such a big hall. Super niiiice. Sound quality was great.
Before sitting down I went some stairs up to make a better #photography of the crowd sitting there.
I you wanna hear him speaking, I think at minute 15 of my video he starts to talk. Feel free to listen to him by yourself. Also if you don't know much about this scandal feel free to read my post about it.

This was the last picture of the conference I made. After that I left around 17:30. I was toooo hungry and wanted to sit peaceful quit by good food so I went off for the day.
Hope you enjoyed this long walk. My feet were bloody hurting. Haha, you have it better right know 😉🤗✨

Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
What a unique walk! I can see some of the companies that I was interested in like TOPTAl and digital Ocean. By the way, how much was the event cost?
Ola my dear @macchiata . Aaaaaaaw you even know some companies there. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. I got the Ticket from "women in Tech", but if I read right in the internet normally it should cost around 850 Euro...Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeew, thanksfully that I got it from the Company. Have a great day.
haha yeah, I like to read about startups, indiehacker culture, and VC's. I used to be on community for women in tech a few years ago. So, I used to know a few people who worked on those companies. Also, Lisbon from what I heard is just amazing all around, maybe I'll get there. That is quite expensive but you're so lucky!!
Same same, I like that too, thats why I was soooooooo happy to be able to visit it this year, even after the last years, finally a live event again.
Ah how cool is that. Hope you will be there next time and visit Lisboa. Its a beautiful City. Love it. From time to time I show some nice areas around here, hopefully they motivate you to visit Portugal and Lisbon.
Have a beautiful wedneday my dear.
An impressive building fir the event
