While browsing through my folder of university projects, I remembered a labyrinth that I had been tasked with quite some time ago. I'm sure at some point I've mentioned it around these parts, I know I'll bring the code back at some point, though I think it prudent to improve it a bit first and spend the time necessary to make it truly useful and age gracefully for the students of years to come.

That maze I called "Labyrinth of the three late nights", at least in the folder, as it was not very smart to pass the .cpp file with that name to the teacher hahaha. I remember that at that time I had to do it in a group with a classmate but he had a lousy relationship with programming so I had to give everything to pass that test.

When we think of structuring the walls of a maze you probably imagine the use of classes, arrays or tools that facilitate the construction. However in the first encounter with this assignment, we were tasked to use only cycles and conditionals, i.e. only if-else, for, while, do-while. With less tools on the table, the "carpentry" became more complicated, so I looked for online guides, advice from "veterans" and everything led to gotoxy, a very interesting library that would make things much easier. Gotoxy, helped a lot with the cursor positioning and conditionals to locate walls and obstacles. Once achieved the first goal, came a second maze, this time with more tools and a base from which to start, that second round had benefits but also other challenges, because the lettering with the "for" statement, ie, graphing letters was necessary to meet several requests from the teacher.

In that semester the tests were escalating and several of the ones I faced I have shared them here in DevelopSpanish, with their respective code. This is because I like the idea of being of help to other students, not only from public and private universities but also to all those self-taught in search of knowledge.

While I was reading that code, I remembered experiences from the past, classmates who are no longer there, classmates who are still in the race but have been left far behind and others who are still there but it is as if they were not there, I would not know how to explain it. Some had to leave the country because of all the things that happened and are still happening, others were frustrated by all the ups and downs of the university and among those who are still there are very interesting nuances.

This semester promises to be one of the most difficult so I have tried to be more disciplined in several ways, so that I can cover several of the flanks from which I could be attacked by some of the subjects to face. Although there are things I cannot control, I leave my burdens on God and move on, it is unhealthy to try to plan absolutely every detail for each day, which carries with it its own eagerness.
