LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

Technology has helped students and teachers in a lot of ways, There are times when students are given assignments and they have to do research on the internet to get their answers. Additionally, teachers and lecturers use the internet to find resources for furthering their knowledge of topics relevant to their work.

SO ANWERING THIS QUESTIONS

How did these devices help you in your own schooling?

When we had assignments that required us to do more research, we always went to the cyber cafe. There, we would buy time depending on the number of hours we would love to be there, the minimum being 30 minutes. I and some classmates would browse the internet at the cyber cafe, of course with assistance from the attendant on duty. In secondary school, I wasn't given the opportunity to use a phone like I do now in the Territorial Institute. The fact that we didn't have to stay up late trying to come up with solutions to problems we didn't truly understand helped us as students back then.

However, as a student in a university today, the internet does much more than just provide answers to questions. One day in class, a lecturer asked a question that none of us in the class could answer. My coursemate then pulled out her phone and propped it up against her leg to search for the answer on Google (the lecturer had strict rules against using a mobile phone in the classroom). After a minute, she found the answer and received a mark from the lecturer.

Did they constitute a distraction?

The truth is that everything in life has a positive and a negative aspect. Especially When it comes to tests or exam periods, some students will find someone to write their exams for them or plagiarize other students' work, Yes technology may sometimes be a distraction. For example, I have observed several people talking on their phones throughout class rather than paying attention to the teacher.

Technology has frequently served as a distraction, particularly for students. Due to their significant reliance on technology, some students are currently less worried about their schoolwork.

Even as a student, I try to always pay attention in class. Here is what I do: When I Get To School In The Morning, As I Am Walking Down To My Class, I Try To Answer Any Messages I Might Have, (Important Messages) So That When I Get To Class I Won't Be Tempted To Be On My Phone, So I Put My Phone On Silence And Turn Down My Phone's Brightness, I Do This So That Even If Anyone Calls Me, I won't be able to pick up the phone while a lecture is in progress. I think all it takes is discipline since, as a student, you don't have to allow technology control you. However, this is the most common issue students encounter.

And what do you think is the future of education with respect to technology in your own opinion?

I think technology has greatly benefited education in many ways. However, given how schools now rely on technology to advance their institutions, I think there would be a significant positive impact on the education sector if there were ways to curtail improper use of technology, particularly the internet. The internet is used for a variety of purposes, whether from a smartphone, PC, tablet, etc.

Since schools already employ a lot of technology, such as tablets for the students in some institutions and the usage of an electronic library in others, the future of technology in education will be very broad.
I simply know that there will be a huge variety of technologies in the future.
Thanks for stoping here

The tech world is massive with lots of things to do there, but like you rightly said every thing that is positive surely has its negative side.

Exam malpractice has also been enhanced with technology innovations, but then what can we say, it is what it is.

Your coursemate worked smart, technology helped her earn some mark. Technology is always there to come through for students when needed.

Thanks for sharing.

Technology has helped us a lot when it comes to studying and having it do learn a lot is a blessing.

I disagree with the fact that technology causes distraction, we are the one who find it difficult to control ourselves with our device. We get obsessed with our smartphone and forget to do what's right.

Hmmm, that's still a distraction in what ever way you put it. It is still a distraction.

Technology on education is a great advancement for schooling. It has seriously helped the society in building the mindset and welfare of the students. It can cause distractions but it's left for us to balance those emotions. I came in through dreemport.

Technology has made a lot of things easy including education....it would have been difficult today without tech.
As regard distractions..it's inevitable my dear, but it's in our hands too to control it

Growing up needing libraries and encyclopedias I welcome the age where knowledge is at your fingertips, but it also pours a too much information into young minds

technology is fundamentally a neutral thing. how it is used is where the benefit or loss occurs.
often it is difficult for authority to figure out how to incorporate coming technology into life, especially education
