Hello guys,

I welcome you to my blog today.

Have you ever thought of what the world would be like if there was no technology of any kind?

Or rather, can you imagine what the world was like when these advancements were not put into place.

Based on little research done, I discovered that technology was first introduced 3.3million years ago long before our species began. You can read more on it here

And now we were asked in the @hive-learners community this question.

Over the years, the world has gone through various technological changes in almost every sphere of life. Some of these are good while some affect us in negative ways. Tell us about your favorite technological advancement today.

In regards to the above question, I would be sharing with you my favorite technology advancement and why it is. Stay tuned.

Technology in Medicine

Modern technology has had a great effect on our lives, not leaving the healthcare sector behind.

Before now, in ancient times, the use of medicinal herbs was vast and probably their only source of treatment. Herbs like Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), Mallow (Malva neglecta), Rosemary Rosmarinus officinalis, Birch Polypore (Piptoporus betulinus) were used for treatment.

I also read somewhere that they practiced Geophagy back then. Here is an explanation of what Geophagy is:

This practice refers to eating soil-like or earthy substances, such as chalk and clay.

They may have copied animals, observing how some clays had healing qualities when animals ingested them.

It is also stated that in some parts of the world recently people still apply clays to cuts and wounds.

Another one is the practice of Trepanny, which is

The practice involved in treating health problems by drilling a hole into the human skull.

There is evidence that humans have been boring holes into people’s heads trying to cure diseases or free the victim of demons and evil spirits or mental disorders, migraines, and epileptic seizures.

Whatttt!!😱😱 Drilling a hole into my skuulll. That's crazy, and I'm sure there might not have been Anesthesia. All I can say is OmO

Moving on, technology came into place and changed everything. In the medical world, technology had improved the experiences of both the patients and the healthcare personnel through:

1️⃣ Easy access to medical information and data: With the help of the Internet medical professionals can now store and retrieve information without moving a foot. They can easily pass the data of a patient within themselves without leaving the hospital, that's some good stuff.

2️⃣ Telemedicine: Telemedicine is simply the delivery of care by a physician to a patient using technology. Telemedicine also known as telehealth has helped bridge the distance between patients and physicians, where a patient doesn't have to go see a physician physically but still gets attended to.

Psychiatrists oftentimes make use of telehealth to counsel patients from a far distance.

3️⃣ Health Applications: Technology brought about mobile and web applications for patients and physicians that help ease stress.

These applications can be used to monitor the health of patients, and give them access to test results and information. There are even apps that can diagnose a patient by barely getting the symptoms.

My teammates and I are currently working on a Mini Viable Product in the health care sector that bridges the gap between patients and doctors through a network of health coaches. We would be launching it soon.

I have been able to mention just a few things in the health care sector that technological advances have brought about.

I hope you enjoyed reading. Thank you🤗 See ya

Whatttt!!😱😱 Drilling a hole into my skuulll.

That's like a nightmare😂.

I read a book dated back to the years of the Roman empire. Physicians back then used to use victims of the arena (people condemned to death, christians especially, made to fight lions for the people's entertainment), who managed to escape death but are one breadth away from death. They'd cut them open alive in order to gain knowledge of the human body system. It's called vivisection. Imagine how gruesome that was for both physician and victim.

This is a wonderful part of technological advancement you've highlighted. Great post❤️

Whoever is directly controlling the V2K told me to kill myself.
They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.

They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?
