To crown it all, you are a teacher and you just said one is dysfunctional without the other that's to say they go hand in hand together...
Without hardwork, talent is useless and with talent and hardwork you will achieve beautiful 😍 things in life....
Hardwork it self is enough to take a man high but what happens when he or she channels it in the wrong direction...
I love your explanation as a teacher and I am convinced that it is indeed a necessary factor to possess both qualities.

Truly, the two must be combined well to go far. But concerning the question of it being channelled wrongly...yes, that brings us to the concept of smart work I mentioned in the post. Whatever one does, one must apply sense to it too!
