These questions are difficult to answer and only time will provide us with the answers. But we can't deny how incredible it is to have so many conveniences at our fingertips with so little effort. For example, all we have to do is press a button on our cell phone to talk to someone on the other side of the world, something that was unthinkable a few years ago. This facility has become so natural that we don't even realize how extraordinary it is. Not so many years ago, letters were the easiest way to talk to other people over long distances and, if we look even further back in time, we find ourselves sending messages via pigeons or even messengers. Today, we just have to press a button on our cell phone and someone else will hear the sound of our voice and what we have to say. This is just one example that, because it's so natural in our daily lives, we don't even realize how incredible it is!

However, along with the advantages of technological evolution, there are also controversies. I remember a case in 2018, when a Chinese scientist claimed to have genetically altered human embryos to make them resistant to HIV. I know that medicine evolves and that advancing technology contributes greatly to new discoveries and solutions for some diseases, but this case raises some concerns about the ethical limits of this practice. The question that remains is: isn't this a procedure that interferes too much with human nature? Or is it even a step towards other types of modification that could alter our genetics and naturalness, because from this modification, other alterations could be created. This is dangerous and there may be no limits.

Another area where technology could be further explored is in agriculture and food production. Despite advances, there is still a lot of room for research and innovation to promote sustainability and improve food quality. The agricultural sector is crucial and deserves more intensive investment in science and technology.

This type of functionality could benefit the agricultural sector, which has already been doing this over the years by genetically altering seeds to improve their quality. The agricultural or food sector, in general, are areas where technology has also arrived, but I still feel that there is a lack of greater intensity in science. Food should be one of the main focuses of technology, along with sustainability, which is also another important point.

The world revolves around profits, and we are forgetting the most important thing: our planet. Technology, innovation and science should focus on solving problems that are degrading our planet and nature. It's not news to anyone how far we've come with global warming and the huge amounts of CO² that are being dumped into our atmosphere. If there's one place where solutions should come, it's in sustainability!

What's the point of so much technology or such advanced science if one day we run the risk of having an uninhabitable planet due to so much pollution? Companies want their profits, but a duty to the planet must be established as a value to be followed. Technology and science should be more active in this respect, because the world needs it and we need to take advantage of our increasingly advanced technology to use it. The planet would thank us.

Hoje, precisamos apenas apertar um botão do nosso celular e outra pessoa vai ouvir o som da nossa voz e o que temos para falar. Esse é apenas um exemplo que, por estar tão natural em nosso cotidiano, nem percebemos o quanto é incrível!

No entanto, junto com as vantagens da evolução tecnológica, surgem também as polêmicas. O setor agrícola é crucial e merece mais investimentos em ciência e tecnologia de forma mais intensa.

Esse tipo de funcionalidade poderá ter benefícios na parte agrícola, que já vem sendo feita ao longo dos anos, alterando geneticamente sementes para melhorar sua qualidade. De que adianta tanta tecnologia ou uma ciência tão avançada se um dia corremos o risco de ter um planeta inabitável devido à tanta poluição? Empresas querem seus lucros, mas um dever para com o planeta deve ser instituído como um valor a ser seguido. A tecnologia e a ciência deveriam estar mais ativas nesse aspecto, pois o mundo necessita disso e precisamos aproveitar nossa tecnologia cada vez mais avançada para ser usada nisso.
