Things That Used To Be Normal 30 Years Ago Feels Strange Today
Hey Everyone 👋🏻
Today's world is changing so fast. Technology is changing every aspect of life and lifestyle. From food to living, everything is affected by technology and involves some kind of technology use.
Technology has played a major role in changing the world over these years. The world 30 years ago was so different from what it is today. If a person were in a coma for 30 years, he probably wouldn't believe in today's world. How far we have come and how equipped we are today.
If I talk about the most basic thing like food, in these years we have invented such a variety of dishes or have learned growing such different kinds of vegetables, creating the artificial environments for a specific product and what not using science and technologies. If I take an example of Mushrooms which are very climate specific, people are able to grow them in a room using technologies. Similarly multiple other things biological processes has been altered to make it more beneficial for humans.
Another basic need of humans which involves housing, education, health has been so developed these days. Several machines have been made to make the construction work easy, a very time consuming process has now become faster with machines. The places where construction seems to be impossible like the highest mountains has now become possible. If I talk about health, we are so equipped to check those symptoms which are not possible to see with naked eyes. We are able to transplant many organs and even create artificial organs that help people. If I talk about education, technology makes every knowledge available at your fingertips.
Alongside these needs, a new basic need that developed throughout these years is the Internet. A thing that no one could think of many years ago, is the most important need of today's people. Who would have thought years ago that a simple letter or a simple conversation between two people living far apart that takes months to reach will be decreased to seconds or minutes. Who would have thought they will be able to talk one to one and can even see while talking.
Transportation has also changed a lot in the previous year. A long journey of many days can now be completed in hours. Every where there are roads and highways and multiple vehicles running on them. At almost every moment, some vehicle is available for your service. At the same time the once silent cities have filled with noises. Not only the roads but the localities have been developed so far in these years. Once when the localities used to be peaceful, less noise less population, less houses, are now overcrowded with buildings and infrastructure. The same local area paths are now unrecognisable in these years.
This is true with every aspect of the world. Change in one place has led the change across the world. Not just the materialistic change happened in these past years but also the changes in human beings. The change of emotions, relations and nature as well happened. People's way of thinking has changed, goals have changed, lifestyle has changed. Once people used to live close to a hundred years, now it often feels reduced to fifty. The relations are not that strong anymore. People are not that calm and patient now. Technologies feels closer than friends and family now. So it's a small change started from one place and got affected by everything.
Another era of change has begun by AI. Like years ago we had no imagination of how far the Internet can go, similarly we still haven't imagined how far the AI can go. Maybe what's today seems impossible will become normal after another 30 years. We can't predict yet what can emerge in the upcoming years. Maybe something that we don't know or don't need for now will become another basic need of the future.
Who knows the future... But it is already changing drastically with the AI era.
The real question is not how much the world will change, but whether humans will be able to keep their emotions and connections alive within that change.

Thank you♥️ for being here
Your presence means more than you know🤗

You're right, so many things that we have now were unimaginable 30 years ago. Looking forward, I'm interested in seeing more AI innovations, more self-driving cars, robots in the home and rejuvenation so we all feel young again! :)

Thank you for the article.
When I read it, I had to smile. In my view, the 30 years mentioned are actually too short. What you described is essentially the world as it existed in Germany about 80 years ago.
India may have developed more in some areas than we have here in Germany – that’s possible. I can still clearly remember a time when there was no internet. And yet, we were always technologically up to date. Back then, the devices were called “home computers.” I wrote my first piece of software in 1981 in BASIC. Today, I develop software using “AI Vibe Coding.
”However, I completely agree with you on one point: The speed of communication has increased incredibly. Today, we communicate with each other practically at the speed of light — from any place on this planet.
Albert Einstein once said, in essence, that if something moves at the speed of light, it tears itself apart. So the question arises: What does it do to us humans when our communication happens at the speed of light?
Thank you☺️ for sharing your thoughts on this. Yeah, I agree that the time period is short for what I mentioned. It's because these things were not as much common as today. So only few people were aware of it. Like today, at some parts of the world, any robot will be working like a normal human in houses, but for many other people living in different parts of the world, it's out of knowledge yet.
And we can absolutely say that these technologies have many negative sides for humans. It's effecting the whole environment and its creatures. But still these developments are going faster than ever.
