Family excited with Artemis II mission.

  Social media has been very depressing, but it has changed a bit. The war posts became frequent, and they bring me anger, especially when I open the comment sections. But the Artemis 2 mission brought a little bit of light to this dark moment of humanity filled with anger. We got hyped with the launch and the whole mission. Not sure if all the money spent on this mission is worth but they really are having a nice opportunity to bring information for some curious humans like me.

  Last Wednesday, we watched the launch with stunning curiosity. My daughters were amazed by the live broadcast and the countdown. We were about to leave for a community dinner, but it was worth our slight delay to watch it at around 4:30 pm. My oldest daughter got her eyes amazed by the happening, and I too. Probably that's how people felt in 1969 when Apollo 11 was launched. We saw the countdown coming from 10 minutes, and the last minute was for sure the most exciting. After it was lunched we went to the event.

  After some days of anxiety waiting for the Orio spacecraft to finally arrive and pass through the moon, they got there. Yesterday, they scheduled a live transmission of their passage through our beloved natural satellite. Yesterday was a holiday here. They usually move the Easter Holiday from Sunday to Monday so people who don't work on Sunday can have a rest day related to the holiday. So during the beginning of the broadcast I was in the movie theatres watching Peter Rabbit with my kids. But after arriving home, I had time to open the NASA YouTube channel to check it out.

  I opened YouTube and we could see their live stream of the moon. Of course, it was a slow travel and probably boring for my kids who were probably expecting a movie-like travel in high speed. But at least for me, I could imagine myself in the skin of these astronauts who were very close to this amazing astronomical object that we stare at from here in the sky, and it seems so far. I love the pictures that they release from our planet and the moon. Quite beautiful images and some of them have never been taken before.

  The mission brings excitement since it is probably the first travel related to the great Mars mission that is coming. They are going to use the Moon as a first step before going to the red planet. The next missions. Artemis III is planned to happen and will include humans stepping again on the Moon. Probably another good opportunity for us to see closer through the lens of the next astronauts who will have the opportunity to go there.

  As redes sociais têm sido muito deprimentes, mas mudaram um pouco. As postagens sobre guerras se tornaram frequentes e me deixam com raiva, principalmente quando abro a seção de comentários. Mas a missão Artemis 2 trouxe um pouco de luz a este momento sombrio da humanidade, repleto de raiva. Ficamos empolgados com o lançamento e com toda a missão. Não sei se todo o dinheiro gasto nesta missão valeu a pena, mas eles realmente têm uma ótima oportunidade de trazer informações para alguns humanos curiosos como eu.

  Na última quarta-feira, assistimos ao lançamento com grande curiosidade. Minhas filhas ficaram maravilhadas com a transmissão ao vivo e a contagem regressiva. Estávamos prestes a sair para um jantar comunitário, mas valeu a pena o pequeno atraso para assistir ao evento por volta das 16h30. Minha filha mais velha ficou maravilhada com o que estava acontecendo, e eu também. Provavelmente foi assim que as pessoas se sentiram em 1969, quando a Apollo 11 foi lançada. Vimos a contagem regressiva começar a 10 minutos, e o último minuto foi, sem dúvida, o mais emocionante. Depois do almoço, fomos ao evento.

  Depois de alguns dias de ansiedade esperando a espaçonave Orio finalmente chegar e passar pela Lua, eles chegaram. Ontem, eles programaram uma transmissão ao vivo da passagem pelo nosso amado satélite natural. Ontem foi feriado aqui. Eles costumam transferir o feriado da Páscoa de domingo para segunda-feira para que as pessoas que não trabalham no domingo possam ter um dia de folga relacionado ao feriado. Então, durante o início da transmissão, eu estava no cinema assistindo a Peter Rabbit com meus filhos. Mas, depois de chegar em casa, tive tempo de abrir o canal da NASA no YouTube para conferir.

  Abri o YouTube e pudemos ver a transmissão ao vivo da Lua. Claro, era uma viagem lenta e provavelmente entediante para meus filhos, que provavelmente esperavam uma viagem em alta velocidade, como em um filme. Mas pelo menos eu pude me imaginar na pele desses astronautas, tão perto desse incrível objeto astronômico que contemplamos daqui do céu, e que parece tão distante. Adoro as imagens que eles divulgam do nosso planeta e da Lua. Imagens belíssimas, algumas delas inéditas.

  A missão traz grande expectativa, pois provavelmente é a primeira viagem relacionada à grande missão a Marte que está por vir. Eles vão usar a Lua como um primeiro passo antes de irem para o planeta vermelho. As próximas missões, Artemis III, estão planejadas e incluirão o retorno de humanos à Lua. Provavelmente, outra boa oportunidade para vermos mais de perto através das lentes dos próximos astronautas que terão a oportunidade de ir até lá.
