I am inseparable from my devices due to my dedication to crypto and blogging, these things automatically became part of me at a point in my life. Doing without them is impossible because engaging with platforms like Hive has become a must-do thing for me.

Aside from blogging, I barely use my phone for other things. Sometimes I play games, chatting is not my thing. The time I spend in front of my device's screen is quite a lot, I guess it is the same for people who are passionate about writing and also earn from blogging.

My phone is my major device because it is easier to go around with it. I can engage online anywhere as long as the environment is conducive for me but it isn't the same with my laptop. My smartphone has been faulty for a few weeks now, I have no intention of repairing it because I had the plan to buy another one before it broke down but for some reason, I haven't. I switched to my laptop for my online engagement which I usually use for just typing articles when the phone was working fine and the experience is quite different.

Blogging has made a lot of us use our devices excessively, it is fun to sit and read around on platforms, play games, watch movies, and others but staying too much on our devices can cause us harm. It is difficult to preach moderation to someone who earns from their online engagement, they just want to engage as much as possible for awesome rewards.

I did this quite well, I hopped from post to post just to make comments. Staying in front of our devices seems like a normal thing until its negative effect on our health began to show up.

My engagement was at 100 percent then but it was at the expense of my well-being. It was hard for me to take my mind off blogging because I was always looking forward to the reward. The reward is a huge motivation and it can also be the bait that can get us trapped in poor health.

It all started with my sight becoming really bad, it wasn't at its best initially and it only got worse.

I suffered from serious neck pain from time to time. It didn't end with the neck, my body always hurt after staying still at a point while operating my device.

I tampered with my sleeping pattern which didn't work out well for me. I actually do force myself to stay awake at midnight which still amounts to nothing because I am always very unproductive when I deprive myself of adequate rest.

I spend most time of every day engaging online until I became a fish farmer. Taking breaks to attend to the fish was difficult because I thought I would have achieved something with the time I am spending away but I was wrong.

The time I took to work on the farm taught me lots of things which has made my time with my device awesome and more productive. Engaging online isn't about how much time you spend online at a go, it is about creating a balance between the physical and online world so that we can be more productive at both ends.

Creating a balance is a good thing, you won't have to stay glued to your device more than you should and you will as well be productive.

My simple ways of coping with everyday use of my devices.

I take long and short breaks as my body demand.

Our body is designed uniquely and it knows when it needs to take a break but the love of money makes us ignore those signs which become terrible the more we ignore them.
I pay attention to my body signs even though I have a fixed time for my break. There are days when I observe the breaks before the right time because my body demanded it earlier.

Short breaks are meant to stretch, take a stroll, and have my meal while the long breaks are for farm work, naps, cooking, and others. These breaks aren't a waste of time because I get inspiration from them and it helps me recover physically and mentally.

Eyes protection.

The most exposed part of the body to your smartphone or PC is the eyes and I do take proper measures to ensure that I am not causing more damage to my sight.

Putting my phone on eyes care which automatically dims the brightness of the phone and putting my phone or PC screen light at the lowest are the ways of protecting my eyes.

There was a time I couldn't use my phone for twenty minutes before my eyes begin to hurt so I got a sunshade to neutralize the effect of the screen light on my eyes and it worked before I recovered.

Taking a day break from my device.

The first time I tried this out wasn't easy for me but it turned out great for me.

There are times when I feel choked up with my engagement online, I take a day off to do other things. These happen mostly on Saturdays, I get worn out physically and mentally so taking a break to engage with other things is my best option.

Forcing myself to keep engaging online won't do me any good, staying away for a day helps me get refreshed and I do come back stronger.

Our health must be put into consideration because it is the only thing that guarantees you everyday engagement online. It is only when you are healthy you can remember to make a post, a little discomfort would make you ignore writing or any other online engagement. While trying to make money, we must consider the situation of our bodies and mental health.

"Health first",
That's always what comes to my mind whenever I'm beginning to feel some stress on my eyes via long usage of phone. I'll just drop it and be at peace for the moment

Even when working, health should be first and foremost. If we are careless about it, then the work we are so focused on will eventually suffer as a result.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
