Let's Explore the Backyard | Fascinating Grasshopper

Hello Learners,

You love your backyard. You spend hours sitting around it, listening to the crickets and talking with friends over a beer. You even have bug spray in case some bugs make an appearance this summer. So why do you feel so afraid of bugs? While insects are generally not as scary as they seem, there are actually plenty of them that make your home unhealthy or even harmful.

It’s important to keep in mind that most bugs we see are just Plain old Bugs, not specifically “Bug” or “Insect” words. The insects listed here aren’t known for their smarts or sting or any other sort of toxin they might be able to produce. These bugs usually just happen to be living inside us (and we live in a world filled with them).

You can recognize a grasshopper because it has the typical insect body parts a head, a thorax, and an abdomen. The mouth is situated near the base of the head, which is held vertically and at an angle to the body. The big eyes above its head provide a 360º field of vision. The tympanal organ and the auditory system are located in the first of the abdomen's eleven segments, which are attached to the thorax.

The next eight segments form a ring and are connected by flexible membranes. Two cercus develop between segments nine and eleven, while segments 10 and eleven houses the reproductive organs. These portions are all reduced. Grasshopper females frequently outweigh males in size.

Few grasshoppers are meat eaters, digesting animal tissue and feces, while the majority are highly nutritious, eating foliage from many plant sources. Located on the side of the head, the huge eyes have a wide visual field and can distinguish between moving objects, different shapes, and colors, and great distances. It is possible for a locust to jump nearly a meter without its wings flapping. Information Source.

Sometimes I wonder why some insect exist in the first place since they caused harm or even destroy what we build but on a second thought I believe they exist for a reason.
Reading about this beautiful grasshopper and how his whole body is segmented just make me appreciate the creator for his wisdom, love, and creative power.
I really don't like seating at my backyard because I'm still healing from the bugs that bit me sometimes ago I will go with a spray next time like you.
