FungiFriday: Gymnopilus near the Saweuk River

These pics were taken in the areca nut plantation area near the Saweuk River, North Aceh. It wasn't the mushroom walk planned as it hadn't rained before. So you could say finding those mushrooms was a mere coincidence, or it could also be considered a bonus from nature when we were taking a walk along the Saweuk river.

How could the mushrooms grow when there was no rain before? The results of my observations indicate that most likely it is because the environment there is always damp and wet due to springs flowing towards the river and the environment is minimal from exposure to sunlight, and I think this allows the fungus to appear on the rotten wood that piled under the row of pine trees.

Luckily, the mushrooms grew on the light wood and some parts of it were covered in moss, so I moved it to a slightly lit area to take the picture. Based on the physical characteristics of the mushroom (white cap and brownish gills), I think this points toward belonging to the genus Gymnopilus.
