Bristly Tropical Cup (Cookeina tricholoma)
This was the first mushroom walk we have done in the woods since the turn of the new year. It rained almost every day in January. Sometimes it rains in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, and sometimes at night. So it's a shame if you miss the chance to watch the "Mushroom Season Festival" that is currently taking place.
Well, this afternoon we explored the local forest to find mushrooms, near the 231st Radar Unit headquarters, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) located south of Lhokseumawe. This area is forbidden to civil society because there is often shooting training by the military. But we were lucky, Friday there was no military activity there.
The bristly tropical cup (Cookeina tricholoma); I haven't seen the mushroom for a long time. Today I see those who grow in groups in rotten wood branches: brilliant red color, white hair, and some bowl-shaped.
For a moment I was stunned to see how gracefully they were. I would not be able to see them directly if I was still lazy at home with cold moist weather.
So gorgeous with all the drop on them!
Thanks @ewkaw 😁
