pizza Margherita- unnecessary knowledge

Hello together!
Today it's about pizza!
And specifically about the pizza Margherita!
Although not my favorite pizza but very popular!
Well in contrast to the pizza salami and ham, which are called Pizza Salame and Prosciutto (What salami and ham in Italian means) ...
But then wouldn't the Pizza Margherita actually be called Pizza Formaggio...actually it is!
However, the Pizza Margherita is usually a pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella and green basil (which stands for the colors of the Italian flag).
This pizza was served to the Italian queen Margherita.
She was so delighted with it that she sent a personal thank you letter to the chef.
In her honor he named the pizza Margherita.
So now you know why the Pizza Margherita is called Margherita.
