RE: Evolution vs Creation. Are both right? — ¿Ambas visiones son ciertas? [ENG-ESP]

Great post and great writing! My problem with relying on the scriptures as a reliable source of historical fact is they were written hundreds of years after the events they depicted and in a different part of the world.

Many great scientific breakthroughs pre-date the bible. People like Euclid and Pythagoras were around hundreds of years before Christ but their work was documented and is factually true.

I think religion offers us little more than anecdotes and metaphors, used as a method of control throughout history. Whilst I appreciate your pragmatic views, the fact that even today, religion controls so much of our behaviour and governance makes me believe that far from enriching and expanding our lives and viewpoints, it has fought against the natural evolutionary process to hold the human race back in it's development.
